    D&D 5E (2014) Playtest Fatigue?

I started late, but really enjoyed the public playtesting of the next to last package as DM for our group, and my players enjoyed playing. But then the last public playtest package came out in June, and had very few changes, and around that time I also realized the actual version being worked...

    D&D 5E (2014) Live Streaming Slavelords - 7/19/2013

Are these available for viewing after the fact? If so, can someone please provide the link to the second session and/or the third? Or are they only available to be viewed live?

    D&D 5E (2014) L&L 1/7/2013 The Many Worlds of D&D

I'm generally o.k. with this, though I hate the Blood War and find it boring. As long as they don't play up the Blood War too much in describing the Outer Planes, I'd be o.k. with this.

    D&D 5E (2014) 07/08/2013 - Legends & Lore Monsters and the World of D&D

I agree with the suggestions to use the 2e description, just tweak things when they feel something should be changed for a specific reason, and of course update the stats.

    D&D 5E (2014) Saving Throws

To me it seems logical that if you are trying to build a system with bounded accuracy, you can't have spellcasting DC's increase with level while having static saving throws. It leads to spells and monster save or die abilities become ridiculously difficult to overcome at higher levels and...

    D&D 5E (2014) Skills Should Be Core

I'd like skills to be part of the core game.

    D&D 5E (2014) The new Bless

I agree, +1d4 over and over to the d20 is a ridiculous bonus for a first level spell in a system that is supposed to have bounded accuracy.

    D&D 5E (2014) 8th Level Playtest with June Update

To me it seems silly that any first level fighter or paladin and in fact most first level characters will have far better AC than a red dragon, and it only gets worse from there as they acquire better armor, etc. I hope this only means they are not yet sharing with us the "real" playtest...

    D&D 5E (2014) New Wandering Monsters - Hulking Out

I like the umber hulk. For some reason I find that old weird D&D classic fun to use in dungeons, underdark and even other settings. Maybe its their confusion ability combined with brute strength, plus their burrowing. I never felt the grey render was very interesting. The chuul is more...

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on 6-7-13 Playtest Packet

I think Animate Dead is considered generally evil because many think that being turned into a zombie or undead skeleton is a fate worse than death (note how in many zombie movies the heroes have a pact to kill each other if necessary rather than let themselves end up in the horrid fate of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on 6-7-13 Playtest Packet

For the half-orc, I would much rather they tone down the Str bonus to +1 and give them some interesting racial abilities. +2 Str is both pretty boring and worrisome.

    D&D 5E (2014) Additional Races! (June 7)

I am concerned about the half-orc getting +2 on Strength. The Rock Gnome seems interesting but his tinker ability seems useless in play other than as roleplaying flavor. The half-elf seems pretty bland. The Forest Gnome was probably the best designed new race in the packet.

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on 6-7-13 Playtest Packet

Is it just me or did the changes seem pretty minor from last packet to this one compared to release of the previous packet? I like the changes I saw as to spells so far, though I'm not sure they went far enough. Attack cantrips were toned down by adding an attack roll to Ray of Frost and...

    my 3D terrain, recent builds

Very cool builds. Can you tell us more about the last build with the ship and floating head? What was that scene and how did it unfold?

D&D 5E (2014) Exclusive D&D Next Campaign available at Gen Con Only

That's an awesome picture of a red dragon. Too bad it only has AC 15 in D&D Next, LOL. But on a more serious note, I do hope they make the next playtest available more broadly and in June and that we don't have to wait until GenCon (or longer for those of us who can't go to GenCon) to see the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Desired Spell Changes

I agree with Falling Icicle's suggestion for spell changes, except I'm ok with Lance of Faith doing slightly less damage than Ray of Frost since it is a cleric spell, and I'm ok with Mage Armor as is.

    D&D 5E (2014) Are quadratic spellcasters still a problem?

In my first and second level playtests the wizard also seemed to steal the show a lot, even with just a few spells. The area of effect spells, combined with the high save DC, made the wizard be able to consistently take out or at least decimate each encounter's monsters with a single first...

D&D 5E (2014) Should the next edition of D&D promote more equality?

As for the part of the OP, regarding sexuality, I think the wise choice there for the game is for the art to stay away from depicting explicit sexuality in the core game, whether that be hetero- or homo- or bisexuality or any other form of sexuality. Sexuality (and I mean any form of sexuality)...

D&D 5E (2014) Should the next edition of D&D promote more equality?

Hmm, a difficult topic to discuss in depth on the forum, but here are some thoughts. I do think it is a good thing for the core D&D books to have art that shows diverse human ethnicities represented among the player characters and NPCs. After all, people of all ethnicities play D&D and why...
