Perhaps it's time for a new campaign and new characters. It seems you are boxing yourself in with your self imposed constraints, so that may be the best option at this point.

I agree with Camarath. A more difficult question is what if the vampire is already in gaseous form and invisible when a glitterdust is cast in the area. Would it be revealed and would the vampire have to make a will save? Common sense would seem to say no but there is nothing in the glitterdust...
