D&D 5E (2014) Tomb of Annihilation Guild Adepts: product list and bios

Surprised more ToA goodies haven't been released before now... I recall (if memory serves) before CoS came out there were a few goodies released early - namely Death House, shots of poster map of Barovia, table of trinkets. I'm mainly vexed as group has started, and I'm stalling running a few...

Using flip mats , prepared battle mats etc

Those are the sorts I have , usually used for finale battles etc but usually end up only a small portion of it. I do have the deluxe bigger dungeon one from paizo I'd love to use but so much trouble to uncover rooms one at a time . I've seen tiles but am not spending any more $ on gaming stuff...

Using flip mats , prepared battle mats etc

How do you folks use these ? Seems overly fussy and time wasty to always be fussing with removing slips of paper to show more of the map as the group explores. Also seems kind of off to just plop mat on the table so group can see everything (post it notes over secret doors :uhoh: and so on)...

group age range (how low can you go)??

I don't want to exclude anyone, although having a 14 year old boy come over to my house and spend hours in the basement with other people I don't really know that well makes me uneasy. Would it make a difference if it was a 14 year old girl? That's just creepy. As I said, if I hosted at a...

group age range (how low can you go)??

Our appx. group age is mid to late 30's (some older) -had a new player join us, turns out he's 14! From first session seems like a nice young man and had fun, but situation bothers me. Our games are really casual and fun, and we don't have any particular adult storylines and so on. Still, he's...

[Updated] Who's Playing What On Fantasy Grounds? Final Stats For 2016!

As an aside, how is FG different from roll20? I understand roll20 lets you play online (for free) - is FG similar to an upgraded roll20?

    Pulling the plug

Very much agree with OP. I've played various editions of D&D off & on since 1986, every one except 4E. So much fun, so many memories. I tried to get the guys into Savage Worlds (which I really like) so we could jump around a little bit. It went ok, but D&D is the gorilla. Getting folks to try...

Totally new to roll20 - how can it possibly work ..?

Ok I see how to search / find a game . Surprised at group sizes (8 players!?) . see how GM sends barcode etc to join game and so on . How can voice only with more than 3-4 total not be anything less than a total gong show..? Even with video seems like tough to work well. Ive watched dice...

very interesting, always curious about this. More than I would have guessed - even if broad strokes and not down the exact $.

D&D 5E (2014) To own 5E books or not to own 5E books that is the Question

A player doesn't need a PHB to play the game. Simply put, some people are not 'readers' and don't care, they just want to roll dice and have fun.

(KS) Revolutionaries – The American War of Independence RPG

Cool idea, although niche appeal is serious understatement? Still, time to take a shot !;) Bardic inspiration totally makes sense now!

Deadlands Reloaded - The Flood chapter 2 - Dr. Hellstromme's Wild Ride prep

I was thinking of that, although Wasatch has just finished the railroad, it's brand new so a lot of that stuff wouldn't be there yet. However, it is California after the great quake so they might also be on a bridge, etc. Don't want to get kicked off there! Dr. Hellstromme's gadget wouldn't get...

Deadlands Reloaded - The Flood chapter 2 - Dr. Hellstromme's Wild Ride prep

(Pinnacle forums still down :() Good first session (The Hellbore) and fun surprises for the players. Starting prep for part 2 - epic fight vs. martial artists, maze rats, a Chinese ogre, all on top of the speeding Good Intentions! I can only assume at this point the posse will access the roof...

    D&D 5E (2014) Help with 19th level boss fight

Make sure dead PCs (healers first) stay down - totally destroyed, eaten, viscera on walls, etc. No healing /whack-a-mole! sounds epic

Ideal group size, is two PCs enough?

Great thoughts, thanks! As a fellow Savage, sure miss the boards there as I gear up to start The Flood (DLR if you are familiar with it). Mechanics aside, also interested to see how it works with just plain fewer bodies at the table. On the plus side, each player will get more time to shine and...
