Drow in my campaign still have weapons and armor that are magical in the Underdark but lose their powers (and soon their substance) in sunlight). Drow can still be exotic, if you work at it.

A lot of goliath posts today it seems. I would simply use the goliath stats, change out monstrous humanoid with giant and lose the +2 to sense motive and call it a day. Unless you really want the natural armor, but that would complicate things more than it is worth I think.

For the half-orc I would base it on the goliath: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/iw/20040711b&page=5 from Races of Stone. Take away the +2 to Sense Motive, trade for some other rarely-used-in-a-tank-build skill, like Survival maybe.
