I read in an earlier thread that the paladin/monk gestalt might be a problem if allowed in a game. I admit that the two classes abilities seem to combine pretty well, but is this combination more powerful than barbarian/cleric, for instance? Thanks for any advice.

Second the suggestion to go Rog/Wiz if you are not married to the Sorcerer idea. I've found that outside of the "social" role, the Wizard class goes better with Rogue than Sorcerer does.

Being able to shoot one handed without penalty is good too. Means you can do something else with the other hand, like poke someone with a rapier or something.
