Cleric - Holy Warrior or Healer?

The cleric should be (and has previously been) what people want the paladin to be until it became it in 4e. Originally the cleric didn't even get any spells until second level!

    A Better Monster Manuel

If the 5th edition Monster Manual ends up being like the 4th edition one than I probably won't even buy it, especially if the info about creating monsters is in the DMG. Monsters are more than just a statblock.

    Psionics

D&D has never been "pure" medieval fantasy anyway. Check out this excerpt from Volume 3 of the original D&D set: Notice the bolded part. So even if psionics is considered scifi it's definetly not too scifi for D&D.

The return of the Male Human Fighter!

Because you're not a badass adventuring human.

The Mind of Fantasy - not the Sci-onics of the Mind

Of course, D&D has included Sci-fi elements since the beginning. The Original D&D set has references to cyborgs, robots and androids.

    In my wishlist: Minions

I think monsters shouldn't be minions normally (except maybe the weakest of monsters), but it should be some kind of template or some such.

Yer candidate for the monster on 5th MM1

I'd like to see a scene with multiple monsters, similar to the 1st edition monster manual.

    Classes: Combat versus Noncombat Abilities

I think the problem with this idea is that you'd pretty much have rewrite all the classes. Because pretty much all classes have some kind of noncombat element suggested by they're concept. For instance, rangers are master woodsmen, wizards are knowledgeable and have magical abilities that are...

Vancian? Why can't we let it go?

Notice I was talking speculatively about the future, not about what already was. Thus I used phrases like "should be".

Vancian? Why can't we let it go?

I think that there should be both Vancian and non-Vancian magic classes in the game (the Wizard might be Vancian, while the Sorcerer should be non-Vancian). Furthermore, there should be guidelines for adjusting a spellcasting class to use another system.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e Pantheon

If the assumed "pantheon" is like the 4e one they shouldn't call it a pantheon, because it's really just an eclectic collection of deities. Instead the section with deities should just be called something like "Common Deities Worshiped by Adventurers". This isn't a knock against the 4e deities I...

D&D 5E (2014) Are you going to start at level 1 for your 5th Edition PCs?

I'm hoping to be able to easily convert over the megadungeon I'm writing for Pathfinder and then having players roll up 5e characters at 1st level and then tackle the upper levels of the dungeon for the playtest.

    Hit Points?

I say why not have options. If a DM wants to have hp rolled at every level, including first, well as long as he can convince his players, he should be able to do that. If he wants max hp at every level and 3x HD at 1st he should be able to do that too. As well as anything in between.

    Oblivion vs Skyrim...

I prefer Warcraft as a model. If you as a tenth level forsaken rogue decide to go into the Western Plaguelands you will likely get killed by a "Welcome Bear". Likewise, if you as a 3rd level character go into the lair of an ice linnorm, or decide to go down a few levels from where you're already...

Should blue players have an advantage?

Blue players, whether they be Smurfs or afflicted with argyria or otherwise, do not gain any advantages in my games.

WAR! huh! what is it good for?

Really, in a typical medieval fantasy setting, war should be far, far more common than peace. Pretty much every year, Lords are likely to marshal they're armies and fight amongst one another in from spring until planting time, over various grievences. Furthermore there are likely to be raids...
