Depends of the family. I began playing D&D when I was around 8 or 9, without any problems. So it really depends on the way the families are. Heh. A mind flayer or chaos beast wouldn't frighten me a bit when I was a kid, but those mouthless Twighlight Zone guys did. :)

In my world, an element called the "mist" (kind of like the "weave" of Faerun) produces "magic". While Wizards study on ways to control the mist into spells, Sorcerers were born into the world being infected by the mist, so the mist runs in their blood.

haha, good one. The Ratlings Planewalkers Masters of the Dungeon and of couse, we can't forget the pop group: The Faerun Five - consisting of Elminster (the intelligent one), Drizzt (the shy one), Elaith (the cute one), Szass (the ugly one), and Artemis (the rowdy one).

The first setting I took part in was Mystara and loved it, and then after a while I converted my own world into a D&D setting and began playing in it for a long time. I've retired my world recently and kept it to story purposes. I now play in the Forgotten Realms.
