    Is My CD-ROM Drive Dying?

That's not rational, the firmware worked before, it will not magically corrupt itself after five years. If the drive had reading problems from day one upgrading the firmware would be reasonable. Now it's not.

    Your vocabulary

I know 54 different variations of the word vagina. ... Seriously, my own (english) vocabulary is average at most simply because I mostly read english on message boards where people tend to use words everyone will understand. I like it when people use more obscure words, it's the only way I...

    Is My CD-ROM Drive Dying?

5 years old, most CD-drives die earlier than that! A CD-ROM-drive goes for less than $20 though and it's very easy to replace even if you have never opened your computer case before, so it's fixable.

    Henry on Atkins?

I went from 205 to 155 pounds last summer. How? I didn't make a deal of it. You know why so many people fail math in school? Because it has a _reputation_ of being difficult, not because it actually is. Same thing with losing weight. Just do it, you know how. In computer science we call all...

Terrorism arrests on my doorstep (almost)

S'mons has all reasons to be concerned. However, so does The Thayan Menace. In his original post S'mon stated he is concerned about terrorists in his neighborhood. If that's okay, I don't see any problem at all if The Thayan Menace expresses HIS concern about the powers who are fighting...

    EN Milestones

Lets see. I've browsed this site and read the forums for about 30% of my entire life. It has been an interesting experience, the people here are very different from my casual computer geek friends, in a good way. Except for Eric, Morrus, Piratecat, Michael Morris, Henry, Shadow of my... eh...

    The opposite of the word

I'd say authority/authoritism/authoritarian Or wait, no. Because the opposite of above would probably be libertarian. There have to be some more extreme form. Dictatorian?

    Missing EN Worlders

Hmm, I miss a bunch. Kwalish Kid, Forgotten Hater, Liquide, Chris Nightwing, Karin's Dad, SHARK, Chronosome, Angelsboi (:()... Ruin Explorer was really cool, but he's already been mentioned. Dang, this thread and Eric's 6 year thread is really making me nostalgic :)

    Disappointing Trends in Movies

I have a suggestion for you all of you: Watch some foreign movies. You are constantly mentioning Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, Pearl Harbor, Batman Begins etc. No wonder you get tired of the same old, these are all hollywood movies! Not exactly known for innovation there. A few newer ones...

    Feature I'd Like to See

Whoa, slow down. It's one thing to accept the host's rules if you visit their home. It's another thing entirely when the two guests start to enforce their own rules on each other. Reminds me of the TV-show Big Brother, and I'd rather not see that happen here.
