Which Class Would You Like to See?

Psi Striker - I want the Soul Knife back.

    WotC GregB: Alchemy

Mmmm. A Alchemist PP would be nice. But what about a new controller class built with that in mind? Maybe not till say the Greyhawk setting book. But still.

Keep on the Shadowfell for FR and Eberron

Mmmm. Gets me thinking that their modular use books will tie together nicely through D&D Insider. Imagine any H1 through E10? module with online. This is how you plug FR, Eberron, Dark Sun in rules!!!

Pregens vs Lvl 6 Gnoll Marauders (pics inside!)

Interesting. Placement has always been a critical part of minis play, but now a lot of powers seemed to need/no demand that the PCs think about where they are and what they're doing. I for one like this.

Scrying - Does it have to be a problem spell?

When one of your PCs takes a combination of feat/class choices to get 15+? questions for the gods a day around level 7...it gets messy.

    Ending at level 21...

    And this is bad?

    Sidewind Charging, driving me nuts.

Not if you time it right.

D&D 4E Would you buy 4E if it were not open/had no licenses for 3rd party companies?

I'd buy it anyway. Open license or not, no game is ever really closed as long as I have pen and paper.

Playtest report: Hanging on a fence

It's a d20 game for sure. Just some of the conventions we're use too need to be shifted around in our head. I'm excited about the revamped Cleric. I want to see more of their power choices. What survived, what's new, etc. With 3rd Edition, I knew what was coming. I was excited about the domain...

    Sidewind Charging, driving me nuts.

Ah, but then you add a Warlord into the mix... Iron Dragon Charge Warlord Attack 9 Like a rampaging iron dragon, you hurl yourself at your adversary, landing a terrific blow that inspires your allies to charge as well. Daily Martial, Weapon Standard Action Melee weapon Target: One creature...

D&D 4E WoTC is increasing the amount of 4e info, but..

I'd just love to see one character, stated all the way up to Epic level. No explanations for all the powers, or what Paragon Path A/Epic Destiny B does. I just want to see a 'final' character.

    Making your own power cards

I was thinking of taking away grids all together. Just use a tapemeasure and Warmachine style minis. Gonna see how that changes the games. Firecubes and all.

Playtest report: Hanging on a fence

Or Rule Cyclopedia, or the various fan works for each previous editions and your right and it will happen. But I'm quite happily in that group of players who are tired of 3rd, 3.5 on down and 4th seems to finally have stepped off the old path enough to make me want to try it. It might not be my...

Playtest report: Hanging on a fence

Okay. I don't have the book. But think of it in terms of purely the play tests. Obviously not everything has changed. It didn't need too. Pacing, general d20 mechanics, etc are just fine as is. Skill Challenges are just an new application of SWSE skill systems (A good one at that.), and the core...

    Making your own power cards

It's wonderful. We don't have to do this, but since the game is easy enough to do...it's so nice. I'd love to have a mess of Status cards. Many copies so I can keep status for PCS and NPCs easy to follow.

    Making your own power cards

We need status cards stat! Bloodied, stunned, etc. It's weird, but D&D is turning into a hybrid mini's card roleplaying game and I'm really, really starting to like it. :D

Playtest report: Hanging on a fence

I can't stop laughing. I get it now. I get why people are having a hard time getting 4th Edition. It's not the SRPG style combat system. GURPS/Mechwarrior and many many others already have that. It's not the skill challenge system. Go play Spirit of the Century or Wushu. No. It's the disconnect...

Skill challenges and the player with 'brain freeze'

Give them obvious choices as an alternative. Just talk to your players and say "Well you could do this." But reward creativity.

    How long after June 6?

I'm giving myself a week to get the core rules down in my head. 1 month till I'm solid with the game.
