Which currently non-core classes would you add?

Ninja. Just because. Besides that? Hexblade. I always liked the Hexblade.

    Design & Development: Quests

What's funny is I've used the card idea before. And had it used on me. Well, quest note sheet. Each 'story' was given to us as notes in a Composition Notebook. It's a classic play style called Blue Booking.

D&D 4E 3 months in and 7 to go - will YOU switch to 4e?

I'm going to run something strait laced and then adapt a unique game once I have the new rules down.

Favorite and Least Favorite 4th Edition Elements

Pro The Roles allowing me to take a solid team, specialize each of them, and still not gimp their primary duty in party composition. Con After a bit of thought, the shift for martial classing smacks of Iron Heroes (which was a fine game mind you), and it hints that some of the more mystic and...

D&D 4E Peter Schaefer on his 4E Rogue (and a Goblin Ranger!)

Eh. I'm just happy Monster PCs are still viable.

    Talent Trees

Okay just imagine the classic Cleric roles. Healer, backup fighter, party buffer...and then we add a new tree. Evil Undead Tree. Control undead, necromantic buffer. I love talent trees. I just want to see a wide and wild range of them. And then I multi class into Wizard and take the Necromantic...

How Come There Is No "Wish" Spell?

Wish is just so badly abused. Too cheep a buff for little exp. Too cheep a plot buster. Wish should be an artifact or a 1 time gift from a god. Not something Epic level casters can bandy about.

D&D 4E The internet: 4E can't have it both ways

Any good company does listen. But if they were to cater to the whims of every flame bait, me too, and system purest out there we would be playing some unholy hybrid of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Edition. At some point you have to make a break with conventional wisdom and shoot for the stars. And so far...

    Is it just me...

They're in the final stages of test, I'll wager. Most likely working on the draft/blue lines of the document. Right now I'm sure they have 2-5 drafts of the final product and they're making choices on sections to leave in, alter if needed, etc before they submit the final edit copy.

Eight is Enough: How Many Classes?

Wow, It never ends to amaze me how gibberfrothy the community can get over things like this. I don't think they'll start putting things down in stone till the Dec preview book gets out.

D&D 4E What has you excited about 4e?

The concept of a Leader role. Fighter self heals. Multiclassing that doesn't gimp melee/caster hybrids. At will spells/effects. Saves working like AC. Faster combat options. More development on the Druid/Monk/Bard classes to make the work.

Bard thoughts...Arcane/Leader and How it might work.

What kinda of Arcane Leader would you build?

    A mystery race ?

I could see Orcs. WOW has gone a long way to making me think of them as heroic. (Long live the Horde...and all that.) But, I dunno. Orcs carry the old baggage of Tolkeen's take on them and the years of being the classic villian of DnD.

The 8 classes in the PHB...

Power Source Nature. Wow, now that would be different. For so many years it's all be divine magic. As a kid I sat there and thought...but God's don't seem right. Now a days, yes. But that's because I learned it that way.

Bard thoughts...Arcane/Leader and How it might work.

Okay. What role would you put the Bard into. Controller? Wouldn't he then be stepping on the toes of a Wizard who uses Enhancement/Illusion already? I was thinking in terms of party buff based on Arcane magic source. Previously the Bard has filled a role like this. Now, I'd admit a (Skald I...

Bard thoughts...Arcane/Leader and How it might work.

True enough. The role are very combat oriented. By the same logic the Bard could be a Controller. But my logic is Leader = Buff/Enhancement powers Controller = DeBuff/Movement powers So, I'm thinking maybe the Bard could use a lot of Power Up type tricks. Defence, etc.
