No one has fallen on their sword for this yet. And there is no guarantee that they won't try and do this again at some point in the future, since they haven't announced that they will make the OGL irrevocable, just that they won't be trying to revoke it at this point in time.

I wouldn’t call it a complete back down. For that to happen WotC would need to amend the OGL to make it absolutely clear it is irrevocable, removing any doubt and uncertainty around the licence for the future. This is pretty close to that though.

“Hasn’t hit the mark” - Not sure if they’re still oblivious or if that’s marketing speak for “we totally stuffed this up and we know it, but we need more time to convince the execs this won’t work”.

These companies must love that the big gorilla in the room has done more to boost their sales for them indirectly than they have been able to do directly themselves in a long time.

WotC have done a really good job of getting all the major 3rd party producers for D&D to either band together against them or shift to their own system in record time. And all for the low, low cost of all their community goodwill and zero new revenue. Great work WotC execs!

This movie continues to surprise me by appearing to not be terrible. So far it looks miles better than previous D&D movies.

If you’re spending half a second per comment, you’re not reading them. And you’re not doing that for 8 hours per day for a year.

There’s also a designer claiming to have read 500k pieces of feedback in a year, despite that requiring they read 4 bits of feedback per minute for 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. So I’m not really inclined to trust that sort of info.

Assuming a 5 day work week, they would have read almost 2,000 comments per day, every single work day. That's 240 comments read per hour for 8 hours a day. So they're claiming that they read 1 comment every 15 seconds for 8 hours straight, for a whole year. Yeah, I'm not sure I believe that.

The worst bit is that the people at WotC that wanted the info still couldn't get it after requesting it.
