Artificer UA to be released in February

Yeah. Which still means it’s a year from being in a book (likely the PoD version of Wayfarer’s Guide). It’s still a play test.

New Dragon+ (Feb 2019): Saltmarsh & Greyhawk edition

That's a pretty hefty section on Greyhawk. I just wish the PDF links would work for me. :(

Artificer UA to be released in February

It's still going to be a UA. It maybe be close to it's final form, but I don't recall seeing anything that implied this will be the final draft and that there won't be any subsequent revisions. (If you have, please feel free to link them.)

For the good of video games, Anthem needs to fail hard

Which is a pretty big oversimplification. After all, what pisses off the fanbase? Well, women and minorities seems to piss off a pretty vocal group. But excluding women and PoC hasn't exactly made gaming a great place. Meanwhile, just producing fan-service and the same games again and again...

Do you want Greyhawk updated to 5e?

I don't think I like the idea that every setting needs to advance their timeline between 119 and 133 years, reflecting the passage of time between the 3e & 2e Forgotten Realms (when the other campaign settings would have last been published) and the current FR date. It's just easier to assume...

For the good of video games, Anthem needs to fail hard

It's selling worse than Andromeda... in the UK and only counting physical copies. And, again, this is an example of a self fulfilling prophecy: people were complaining about how terrible Anthem would be from the first trailer (see this thread as an example) and them, surprise surprise, the game...

For the good of video games, Anthem needs to fail hard

And how would you have improved it?

Do you want Greyhawk updated to 5e?

They release new PoD books every week or so. They’re just slowly going through the back catalogue as it takes time to update files and order proofs. Especially for releasing a box as a softcover book. But the earlier folio is available.

Artificer UA to be released in February

Except this won’t be the first new class. We’ve seen another earlier artificer and the mystic already.

Do you want Greyhawk updated to 5e?

No. They just need to release the ‘83 World of Greyhawk book as Print on Demand. That’s alll you need. There is literally nothing in that which needs to be mechanically updated to be usable.

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

That and it’s easy. They did four books last year, with three being in the fall. They did a book a month for a while. This was their break, as they just needed to update and do a quarter of the work of making a full book.

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

IF they’re updated you mean. If Frog God Games or Green Ronin were going to, they already would have. And updating from Pathfinder is more for experienced DMs. Regardless... an official D&D product likely sells an order of magnitude more copies as those books, reaching ten times as many gamers.

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2E or Pathfinder 1E?

They don’t need to pick one Edition over the other. They can keep doing what they’re doing now and just publish a few 5e books. (Heck, I imagine PF2’s schedule will be slower than PF1’s, so they could fill the schedule with 5e books.) Publishing 5e accessories doesn’t affect the rest of their...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Having been reading Twitter, I've discovered a pretty big problem with this book: the absence of pirates. People want pirates. When this was announced I saw a number of people excited by the idea of a sailing campaign and possible piratical PCs. But this isn't that. The first three sessions...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Look at people's responses to the delay of the artificer by 2-3 weeks for an idea.

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Looks like this book has an alternate cover. The first adventure with one rather than just sourcebooks. The alternate covers have long since ceased to be interesting, and now feel like a grab to get people to buy a second “non collector’s” version. It looks cool but I’ll probably pass on the...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Agreed. It probably doesn't take much. A few shared NPCs, a couple paragraphs suggesting how to continue things, maybe some Easter eggs and callbacks. It will be nice to have some higher level 3e modules updated. Tales From the Yawning Portal updated some low level ones, which were the easiest...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Sounds cool but not very surprising. The team was pretty busy in the fall, so I expected another compilation of some kind. (Which is also why it's not coming out until late May rather than early April like other Spring releases.) I like the idea of a more thematically connected version of Tales...

The New D&D Book Is Called "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" [UPDATED!]

Despite the original Tomb of Elemental Evil and Tomb of Horrors NOT being moved to the Realms I assume you mean how the Princes of Elemental Evil from the Elemental Planes also appeared in the Realms in addition to Greyhawk and how the multiverse travelling Acererak built dungeons on both Oerth...

For the good of video games, Anthem needs to fail hard

Yeah. They're bad. I don't think anyone likes EA. Liking EA isn't on the table. But if someone hates EA shouldn't the hope be "man, I hope BioWare manages to strike a deal to buy itself out" or "I hope some key management changes and they go more hands-off on studios" rather than "I hope...
