I played in a makeshift 4th edition game last night for the first time myself, and was quirked by the function of powers. At-Will powers seem rather too much at-will, and the effects they can generate seem a little random. Encounter powers seem too randomly used up and you might as well unload...

Personally I'd like to see some more Minor Action powers. The more dynamic combat can be, the better. Though I also think some At-Will powers shouldn't be usable every round.

Yeah, I think I was stuck in 3.5 thinking. Hard habit to break. ;) Didn't see how they specifically mention the Weapon keyword on all attacks that utilize a weapon.

Sorry, obvious question that I must ask: When a power is a melee attack that says that the to-hit roll is "Dex vs. AC," does that mean that one makes a standard melee attack roll and substitutes dexterity for strength? Or is it just a dexterity roll? I missed the answer somehow.

Even the thought of going back to an old system is kinda disgusting at this point. If I did I'd want to try to convince the DM/players to slowly adopt pieces of 4E. Not to say I think 4E isn't seemingly skewed in some ways, but the sheer ease of making homebrewed rules to adapt for that is so...
