    Queen of the Demonweb Pits...anyone?

They are most definitely in the same league. Gods and demon lords always interact as equals. Always.

    Running a Greyhawk campaign

The "Hall of Heroes" and "Legendary Places" chapters of Greyhawk Adventures were generally very good, and played a huge role in the development of the setting. Most of the material in it hasn't appeared in any detail anywhere else, either. The new spells, magic items, and rules for 0-level...

    Ethereal Plane

Yup. From the "border" Ethereal Plane, you can see the Material Plane as if through a thick fog. Sounds and colors are muffled and dimmed. From the Material Plane, Ethereal things are normally invisible (without magic or special senses). It's exactly like you're floating through a thick fog...

Planescape, Oathbound, Star Trek? Kingdom Hearts?

I think people like Rifts for reasons that have nothing to do with coherency. They like the specific OCCs, and the cross-genre action, mega-damage points, and races like the wolfen and sploogorth. But I don't think "coherency" is part of the setting's appeal. I suppose that's a valid question...

Planescape, Oathbound, Star Trek? Kingdom Hearts?

Other good examples of what I think Kamikaze is trying to convey are the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic, or Lullaby. They're both pastiches drawing from many sources, but the authors have created coherent narratives to tie them together. That's the job of the DM, in many cases, but...

Planescape, Oathbound, Star Trek? Kingdom Hearts?

I think those of us who like the factions aren't interested in playing people with "sense." They're people working to change the nature of reality, to redefine it with their faith and will. They live in fluid, surreal realms of myth and possibility, and what "primes" consider sensible doesn't...

Sigil NPC list, Venues list and Map downloads

Nope: if I leave it blank, it just comes up with no hits.

Sigil NPC list, Venues list and Map downloads

Yes, that works fine, when searching for a specific word (like "tiefling" or "Athar" or "Clerk") - I just couldn't think of a way to make the whole list visible at once.

Aha! Gmail can open Excel documents! Success!

Beheading = Critical + fatality. Anyway, this strip was every kind of awesome.

Cambion racial stat modifiers - WTF?

No. "Age of majority" is the correct term. Google it. "Age of maturity" doesn't mean anything in particular.

Cambion racial stat modifiers - WTF?

Indeed. From Wolfgang Baur's Q&A: "What else about process? It's all a bit of a blur, but I can say with confidence that it got much, much, much more time in development and editing than other WotC projects I've done. I'm still unclear on why that is, actually. I was initially told there would...

Cambion racial stat modifiers - WTF?

Well, if the author is Wolfgang Baur, he wrote The Assassin's Handbook for Green Ronin, which presented the assassin as a base class. That might have colored his judgment. But yes, it should have been rogue in a WotC product.

    Oots #437

Because his usefulness has ended, and Palpatine needs both Maul and Qui-Gon out of the way in order to develop a closer relationship with young Ani. Apologies for the off-topicness.

Expedition to the Demonweb Pits ToC

Rule-of-Three is officially a son of Graz'zt, now? In 2e he was the son of a glabrezu spy who merely worked for Graz'zt. I guess he's moving up in the world.

Demonomicon - after the big 14?

The exiled archdevil Nergal is still alive, and still exiled in Avernus, as of Fiendish Codex II. The Babylonian deity is still around as of Dragon #329, and the Planescape setting (where he assisted in the murder of Enki).

The Lords of the Nine Hells

From Stormwrack, page 157: "Scyllans are descendants of the fabulous Scylla, an ancient fiendish sea monster (some say archdevil) with six snaky heads. Today, these lesser fiends primarily inhabit the frozen ocean of Stygia in the Nine Hells of Baator..." What do you think, should Scylla be...

    [Planescape] Questions about Sigil

And both versions of the Manual of the Planes. I would have accepted Finder's Bane as a source even if he hadn't been involved, though. I read the sequel, Tymora's Luck, but not that one.

    Quick question about the Githzerai

I would say that if you're trying to convert Planescape's githzerai specifically rather than githzerai as they've existed in the monster books since 1st edition, drop the psionics. Githzerai and githyanki were extremely, game-breakingly powerful psionicists in 2nd edition, and it would pretty...
