D&D 5E (2024) You Can Now Pre-order Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

I am LOVING the shift in art direction for Eberron. The zeppelin style airship is pretty slick! The new warforged is fun too!

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Tough spot? Nah. It's not tough at all to avoid working with antisemites and other hateful people. City State, on its own merits, is an excellent choice for the OAR (Original Adventures Reincarnated) line. But for obvious reasons, one Goodman would have been wise to avoid. There are still...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

There is not a comparable product. There are plenty of other "city" sourcebooks, but none that have the nostalgia factor that City State of the Invincible Overlord does. But for me, I will pass on this unique product. Supporting a company run by antisemites is not something I'm willing to do...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Never ascribe to malice what can be explained by incompetence. I doubt Judges Guild intentionally embezzled the kickstarter funds. But rather planned and implemented the project so poorly, they failed to deliver. Either way, a good reason not to support the company again, in addition to the...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

Well, it was Judges Guild who failed to deliver on the City State kickstarter, not Goodman Games. Goodman Games has a pretty good track record getting product out as promised, I fully expect this campaign to fund, and if funded, deliver. And it's the current owners of Judges Guild who are the...

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

Yeah. Excusing someone from abusing an employee and close friend as "just the way things were back then" doesn't hold water. People know better now, people knew better then. Was it more common back then? Probably . . . don't care, it's still wrong.

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

Heh, well, I meant fans, not business partners Gygax screwed over. But, yeah.

D&D 5E (2024) OAR 10 City State of the Invincible Overlord

Yeah, I'm feeling the same way. Goodman Games puts out good work, but this is disappointing. I tend to get Goodman, Troll Lord, and Frog God confused at times, as they all operate in the "old school feel, modern rules" genre of TTRPGs . . . and also seem to willing to ignore problematic...

D&D 5E (2024) OAR 10 City State of the Invincible Overlord

I don't think they are oblivious . . . but I'm beginning to think they don't care. Or don't care enough. Which is disappointing. The original City State of the Invincible Overlord is an old-school classic that would be a lot of fun updated to modern D&D. But I don't need it that badly, not...

RPG CROWDFUNDING NEWS – Dungeon Puzzle Cube, Exoecology for Monster Hunters, and more

While I'd never solve it, I think the Dungeon Rubix Cube is genius. How did it take this long for somebody to come up with that? :)

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

I've never heard of anybody idolizing Williams. I've seen nuanced takes, that she first saved TSR from Gygax and the Blumes folly, but then eventually ran it into the ground herself. I've also never heard of anybody despising Gygax . . . but it wouldn't surprise me if they are out there. He was...

D&D General Universal Fan Fest D&D Secrets of Waterdeep Report!

Not what I meant, but I do think the event sold well. The lines for "Secrets of Waterdeep" were not long. Wait time maxed out at about 20 minutes. But they packed us into the event itself, it was very crowded . . . even though the line outside was not.

D&D General Universal Fan Fest D&D Secrets of Waterdeep Report!

It's pretty cool . . . it seems well constructed, but not sturdy enough for an everyday bag. It's a cosplay item, IMO. The side-stitching and various color blocks are a mix of sewn on, glued on, and screened on. I can see the stitching easily ripping, the glued pieces dropping off, the screened...

D&D General Universal Fan Fest D&D Secrets of Waterdeep Report!

If anybody has questions about "Secrets of Waterdeep" . . . or the Star Trek "Red Alert" experience, or the Back to the Future experience . . . I've got Star Trek photos also I could share. If you check out the photos above, the posters in one of the "back rooms" near Xanathar's lair are fun...

D&D General Universal Fan Fest D&D Secrets of Waterdeep Report!

I just got back from LA and Universal Studios Hollywood, and I got the chance to attend Universal's Fan Fest! Including the D&D experience "Secrets of Waterdeep"! Universal Fan Fest is an after-hours event brand-new this year that focuses on various fandoms to lure park-goers during the...
