Shackled City Epic: "Vengeance" (story concluded)

I haven't posted in this thread in a while but I want to say that this is great writing. Its intresting comparining this thread of a fictional account of the schackled city series to a account of the adventures really run in Jollydoc's thread.

Leveling, how do you handle it

Experince is by the book. But you can't level in a dungeon you have to be somewhere safer. But once you are its basicly instantanious to level.

    Multiclassing penalties

I use the players handbook rules. But then again I don't think I've seen anyone multiclass in any game that lasted any length of time. So I've never really needed to consider whether the rules are fair. But even if I did need to consider I'll think that I'd keep the rules the same.

Setting the scene: Art, Text or Both?

I've haven't voted but I think that you should let your group decide which one they like. Run one game with both and then ask the group whether what they want you to continue with.

During D&D combat, how do you run it?

I picked We use a battlegrid and miniatures but there wasn't an option for the complete answer to our group. Minatures are mainly used but when we face a massive battle other things are used like the labled backs of of square cardstock tokens from old games and other such things.

die_kluge's story hour - The Lost Continent

Since you don't seem to have much of a readership I'll continue doing my part to keep you motivated. The final battle of this adventure was a great read and I looked at your rogue gallery thread and am anticipating the battles with those monsters you posted. Won't say anything about them because...

WoR - Races - Evolution vs. Deity Created

Divine creation is much easier to use if you want unusual races. Thats its main advantage but it also leads to the gods being a strong force in the world which you may or may not want. Evolution on the other hand leads to much more ordinary races. However it leads to certain adventure...

How many gamers does it take to change a light buld A lot: 1 to post online, "Help my Gm is making me change a light bulb" A good amount to post advice ranging from useless to very helpful, a few other members of the group to shift through the advice and decide a strategy, and the first player...

Tell me about your low level druid!

Low level spells that are useful: Entangle: If your party has good ranged attacks this is the king of outdoor combat at low levels Invisibility to Animals: Not the most commonly used spell, but my druid found it to be of great use in a swamp to bypass all the crocodiles Flame-blade: This is a...

    Can't remember what book...

I believe what you are referring to is from a homebrew of one of the other members of enworld. Although it is not mine this link to the urbis campaign website describes a tower quite like what your referring to. Link I can't remember which member made this but if he or she wants me to take down...

+1 to existing spellcasting class and PrCs

Like the other posters I agree that when you go past the maxim spellcasting level available under level 20 for a prestige class the caster level goes up but spell slots and spells know stay the same just like if you advanced the class into epic levels.

    Dire Straits -- Help needed!!!!

As far as I see it you can survive, by heading into the empty corridor and hiding with your rouge skills. But that leaves the rest of the party at the enemy's mercy. If they just capture them then you can attempt a rescue latter through stealth. But its probably your best option. Having one...

    The world is 99% ocean

And Here I have a monster for you to throw at your players. Players in this game should stay out. It is not from older editions of D&D but from classic greek myth. I'm not so sure on the beasts cr though. For on one hand it is a very very nasty in melee. On the other hand it has no...
