    D&D 4E Jay's Weekly 4e Content Blog

So I realized that in my haste to post the Paragon Path powers, I forgot the non-power features. Sorry! Those are up now. Next week: new racial feats for the core races, all the way through epic tier!

    Jonathan Tweet's 4th Edition Campaign

Woo, from the man himself! Heck no! I loved it so much I'm thinking about doing something similar. If you were to publish it, I'd snap it up right quick! (hint hint :D) Glad to see it's still alive and kicking. I'll tune into your staff blog when the Wizard boards are back up!

4e Frag Fest - MapTools Online Game

This sounds cool. I'm very eager to familiarize myself with the mechanics of 4e, and this sounds like a good way to do it. Still looking for new players?

    Jonathan Tweet's 4th Edition Campaign

Does anyone recall Jonathan Tweet's Gleemax blog, where he described in excellent detail his ongoing paragon-level 4th edition game? It was based in a solar-system not unlike our own, where the greek gods controlled various planets and the titans had taken over Earth. It sounded very novel...

Bow Ranger....most powerful class in the game?

I think you could do this with a party of paladins as well. But it boils down the same thing: staying power.

Anyone here getting Warhammer: Age of Reckoning?

I believe that's correct, though I'm not 100% sure. This is both a blessing and a curse; blessing in that stealth classes really tend to muck things up balance-wise (for themselves and others!), a curse because it could turn away people who favor that kind of class.

    Monster Manual and re-used art

    I could've sworn there was AD&D 2e used in the 3e MM, but off-hand I can't say for sure.

October '08: What Are You Playing?

Finally beat GTA IV; strong game, abrupt ending. Currently playing nothing. Nothing's really piqued my interest, so I'm taking a break for a while.

Heroes #3--One of Us, One of Them/Sept 2008

Wow, surprised by the negative reactions. I enjoyed this episode. Already this season is several steps up from what we got last year. I'm not quite understanding the "plot based on the stupidity of character" complaints, but to each their own I guess. I will say that I don't like the way...

    Monster Manual and re-used art

The difference is 2% ;) But your point remains. Do I like all the reused art? Not at all. But I think when you have such a high volume of art needed to fill a new edition, it's both a supply (how many artists and quality sketches can we get before deadline?) and cost (the process is already...

    D&D 4E Jay's Weekly 4e Content Blog

Hey all, Since I've recently started running a game and doing some worldbuilding, I've been bit by the old amateur designer bug! So I set up a blog I set up a blog here on ENWorld to keep everything organized. I'm not only looking for an audience, but honest feedback as well. I want to use...

    New 4E covers up!

Well, that sounds useful. Sign me up. Can't say I love the ECS, but the EPG is great: simple, effective, evocative. But there was no question about whether I would buy these.

    Cadfan's Comments on Everything 4e

At least in my first session, this seemed to be the case. 3 PCs vs. a by-the-book Level 1 Encounter for 3 PCs (300 xp) - 4 goblin minions - 2 goblin warriors Status: steamrolled. The second fight had a fair amount of minions as well, and was not as challenging as I'd hoped. By my...

    Charisma based feat

There's obviously a trade involved, but I'm uncomfortable with inflating the value of stats that way. I think those feats deserve closer scrutiny.

    Finally: DMing 4E

I thought that the +5 Skill DC note had been removed by the errata, but I could be mistaken about that. After Saturday, I completely agree. I'm not too concerned, when I am ready to include one, it'll have a significantly more detail. Again, it was more of a "let's see how this works!"...

    Finally: DMing 4E

Cool, thanks for the report! I just DMed my first game of 4e on Saturday as well, all-in-all a positive experience. I only had three players: two Strikers (Ranger, Warlock) and a Defender (Paladin). So not only was a working from a smaller group, but we didn't have a true Leader to provide as...

    Opportunity Attacks

Ran my first session of 4th Ed. on saturday. All and all a great experience, but of course we had some rules questions come up, particularly about things that do and do not draw opportunity attacks. My paladin player thought that Lay on Hands might draw OAs. A quick glance in the PHB...

D&D 4E Should the action denying Stunned condition remain in 4e?

I'm cool with stunned because of saving throws. It gives a player the illusion of control over the effect, and at the very least something to do when their turn comes around. I'm ok with PCs taken out of the action, so long as players are not.

    Dynamic Excel "Wiesbaden Charactersheet"

So v 1.12 used to work for me, but the latest gives me a "too many cell formats" error and then crashes Excel. I'm using Excel 2003. Too old?

Anyone else notice that if you play a 'monster race' in 4e...

Lawful Evil fits in just fine with Evil, and Chaotic Evil is the same as it's always been. If you have an issue with the alignments, it's not 4e's fault, it's the silly alignment system. Please don't turn this into another edition war thing.
