    Overpowered/Underpowered Spells?

Some suggestions & comments Mind Blank: 24 hours seems fine to me, the idea is to literally hide your mind from external influence, and for a 8th level spell, this seems about right. Mage's Disjunction: You could always change auto-dispel to a dispel check with a bonus equal to your caster...

Exchanging Paladin Spells for Divine Feats

I like option B myself. The reason for this is that a paladin will typically be able to use his divine feats less often than his spells. At 20th level a paladin can cast a minimum of 4 1st, 4 2nd, 3 3rd, and 3 4th level spells (the extra 1st and 2nd levels spells are granted by a minimum Wis 14...

Life-Keeping & Revivify -- Changing the Face Returning From the Dead

Hi All. Changing the way returning from the dead works in my campaign and want to solict ideas, suggestions, and even criticisms (so long as they are constructive). The basic premise of these changes is that it is much easier to restore to life a dead creature whose soul is still on the same...

    the elements of this age?

This isn't the D&D Immortals set =) White Wolf did a pretty good take on modern elementals in their book Axis Mundi for Mage/Werewolf. I'd suggest skimming that--if I can find my copy I'll post them later.

Bonded Summoner - player & DM experiences?

Ah, there is the problem, and what causes the balance issue. By skipping two skill ranks you gain abilities two levels earlier than your fellow players. As for the wiz5/bs5, he's the right power level. Your typical 10th level PC fighter* can turn a a Huge elemental (any variety) into cheese...

Variant Class - Bloodline Sorcerer (comments welcome)

Not bad, but kinda complicated in my eyes. I do like the adaption of the overchanneling rules from Wheel of Time tho =). I use a similar system, except sorcerers gain one bloodline level of their choice for free, gain that bloodline's gifts at 4,8,12,16, and 20. If they want an intermediate...

Can a Wizard make a Healing Spell?

I did. Bard have a max number spells per day per spell level equal to a wizard. Bards gain these spells at wizard class level equivalents of 2nd, 4th, 7th, and 10th level, assuming you have a high enough stat to provide bonus spell. That would set the equivalent wizard spell levels to 1st (CLW)...

Bonded Summoner - player & DM experiences?

You are correct. The bonded summoner PrC *cannot* be entered until 5th level, as it has a requirement--Knowledge (planes) 8 ranks--that cannot be met until 5th level, even though the class only requires the ability to cast 2nd level spells. In addition the Summoner PrC from Relics and Rituals...

    [BoVD] ECL for skeletal/corpse templates?

Well, there is no listed WotC update for them that I could find, but I would suggest +1. They are not as powerful as the celestial or fiendish templates found in the 3.5 MM, and they have a LA of +2.

Is it worth buying stuff especially for 3.5 anymore?

There is no 4th edition coming any time soon. The main source of 4th edition rumors lays in people speculating whether or not the OGL or SRD will change or become closed whenever the next version of D&D comes out.

Can a Wizard make a Healing Spell?

Just because the DMG says so, doesn't mean it's right :) . After all the bard has access to cure light, medium, serious, and critical wounds. Along with mass cure light wounds and neutralize poison. Thus arcane magic *can* be used to cure damage. The biggest difference between clerical magic...

    Building a summoner

Ditch the cleric levels, they're not going to help you, especially is you are aiming to snag the 6th level Alienist class feature Extra Summoning. Go with a wizard 5/Alienist 7. Assuming you race is human this gives you 5 feats from levels, 1 human bonus feat, 2 bonus metamagic feats (alienist)...

D&D 3.x What are your current 3.5 House Rules?

Bah! The Mystic Theurge is fairly balanced--we took a wiz15 and wiz3/clr3/MTh9 and the wiz15 blasted the hell out of the mystic theruge. Three caster levels makes a hell of a difference, especially when you look at spell slots (8th for the wiz15, 6th for the mystic theurge). I imagine the same...

Can a Wizard make a Healing Spell?

There is no reason why a wizard should not be able to cast healing spells except for tradition and maintaining differences between divine spellcasters. Rather silly, actually. Somewhere along the way (real early) D&D and it's players became fixed on the idea that wizards blow up stuff, and...

    Are you an NPC?

I like this thread. Base: 1st level; +1 for high school, +1 college, +1 for being age 21, +1 for kali/iaido training, and +1 for turning the year I graduated college into a movie =). Based on my major and work experience I would be a charismatic 3/fast 2 hero. Now if only d20 modern had a...

Players guide to Faerun released yet?

No offense, but if you let players use the Fist of Raziel as described BoED you're crazy. IMO the Fist of Raziel should only get +1 spellcasting level every two class levels. That or +1 level of paladin only.
