    Keep on the Shadowfell preview

Charge. The shift comes after and by then you've attacked. Edit: Of course now Ari has me doubting that. Is charge one action or two?

    Keep on the Shadowfell preview

Those are coming in the DDI preview as far as I know. Edit: Blarg. Ninja'd because I'm apparently posting in molasses.

    D&D Insider News

Ah, that explains why there's been no further demos. They're not going to be ready by the 6th. Hopefully that next column will give a release timeframe. But I'm glad to hear they're not going to be forcing the things out at the same time as the books.

    I Really Like Keywords

Ah. That works. Why pips instead of numbers though? More symbolic, easier to pick out? Hm.

    I Really Like Keywords

I was thinking about it and yeah, it does seem like they could have just recolored them in order to say "RECHARGEABLE ABILITY HERE". I don't think the symbol translation will be a problem for more than a couple game sessions though. :5: will start coming up "5" in people's minds pretty fast...

    I Really Like Keywords

The recharge numbers being symbols is so they don't drown in the stat block text when you roll a 5 on the recharge. War Devil (Malebranche) Level 22 Brute (Leader) Large immortal humanoid (devil) XP 4,150 Initiative +17 Senses Perception +15; darkvision HP 255; Bloodied 127 AC 35; Fortitude 34...

    Excerpt: Weapons (MERGE)

In the same way a longsword is both a military weapon and a heavy blade. One is category, the other is group.

    Excerpt: Weapons (MERGE)

Huh. High crit weapons do more and more damage at higher levels. Interesting. There's pretty clearly alot of ways that damage jumps at the paragon and epic tiers that arn't obvious from power descriptions. Edit: Ninjered?

    Speculation on Weapons

I want to see addition info about implements next to the weapons.

Boring? They're probably going to show off the buster swords at last!

    Excerpt: Racial Benefits

My last D&D DM (about 5 years ago) did. Because they didn't play well with others. I think he was using the Dark Sun model for them.

    Ranger Prime Shot

If none of your allies are closer to your target than you are (equidistant is ok), +1 to ranged attacks against that target.

D&D 4E Weird & Wacky Stuff You Want in 4e

Cat Burglar perhaps? >_> Well, encounter power combines stabinating something with a tumble and a shift after for excessiveness. Certainly seems like a crazy acrobatic move. I'd be disappointed if the rest of the PP isn't similarly tumble themed.

D&D 4E Love It or Leave It: 4E Multiclassing

I'm not sure which way to vote in this at all. On the one hand, the basic concept is excellent. Use feats to snag class features from another class. I'm very positive about that and it seems like a mechanic you can use to balance the features by feat. On the other, they seem to indicate that...

    Multiclassing.

Now my brain hurts from thinking about the meta-physical implications of replicating a non-existent concept perfectly. WotC is obviously attempting to destroy the universe with these multiclassing rules. They must be stopped.
  19. S

    Multiclassing.

Well, as long as this post is here, here's my random guesses. All class progression in features is now through feats. A class feature might get slightly more powerful to remain somewhat useful at higher levels, but you will never randomly get new options from leveling up. All class progression...

    Monster stats

Quick note Shields don't have enhancement bonuses any more. You only ever get 3 enhancement items, your weapon, your body armor and an amulet or cloak. You're probably leaving out various feats that give bonuses to defenses. Like the chainmail specialization feat that gives +1 AC...
