    Five Alignments?

Oh, come on, next you'll be saying that you can't be dedicated to the ideals of good AND destruction at the same time. Oh, hey, wait a tic... >_>

D&D 4E Notes from the 4E Corebooks: Alignment, Monsters, Artifacts and More

It's not quite that simple apparently. Archons, who can be seen here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4ex/20080521a are described as what can only be considered Lawful in 3rd edition. They're disciplined, efficient, intelligent soldiers. They also happen to be chaotic evil. Clearly...

    Excerpt: Archons (merged)

Being slowed doesn't stop you from shifting as a move action, it's only moving INTO a difficult terrain square that costs two speed and you can shift out of difficult terrain as well. So, basically, if you're standing on a lone difficult terrain square while slowed, you could shift out of it or...

Excerpt: Minions. Go forth mine minions! Bring havoc with your 1 hp [merged]

Indeed. Also remember that there are a fair number of feats and at-will powers that do some tiny amount of damage (usually an ability modifier) on a miss. It is more for these powers and feats than the dailies that minions do not take damage on misses. If you want to just say "Ok, I don't care...

What is the FONT they are using in KotS?

It's not just you. "They MADE a font? How cool is that?!" And then I realized that I had really just thought that.

Excerpt: Minions. Go forth mine minions! Bring havoc with your 1 hp [merged]

The angel has no ranged attack (although fly might negate this disadvantage). It has to get into melee to start dealing damage at all. The giants can pick a target and unload a bunch of rocks into a single PC and then they still have alot of hit points to be dealt with once you're in melee with...

Excerpt: Minions. Go forth mine minions! Bring havoc with your 1 hp [merged]

Interesting. The Legion Devils are way, WAY stronger than the orc minions. I was puzzling this out when I realized that the unique part about orc minions is they'll probably be lead by an Eye of Gruumsh type. Thus, they charge into combat as fast as possible, get one hit in, then get another hit...

    Five Alignments?

Ok, I think I understand, but clearly you have to be choosing your words carefully :)

    Five Alignments?

He pretty much said that his preference for names would have been Lawful/Good/Evil/Chaotic/Unaligned. Not sure what exactly he meant though as if that more accurately describes it in his mind, or if there was some other reason for it.

    D&D 4E 4E with a party of two?

Stuff like this makes me giggly about the DMG. Hope it lives up to my rising expectations :)

Are there too few known encounter powers?

I think you're answering the wrong question here. The OP is concerned that the hard limit of encounter powers (4) is too low. Not that there's too few to choose from. Exactly.

Are there too few known encounter powers?

Purpose? Is that in the MM?

Are there too few known encounter powers?

It lets you use an encounter power every other attack. So you set up a good situation with an at-will or two for your teammates, as well as one from yourself perhaps, and then you unleash an encounter. Next round you do it again. Setup, big attack, setup, big attack. If you had 8 encounters...

    Self-Mutilation Powers

There's a rogue power that lets you move by enemies, and it causes them to hit themselves with an OA as you do so.

    Iconics ...

I think all 8 of the class intro pictures can be found here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4art/20080220a Most of them are clustered near the middle, but the cleric is all by his lonesome a bit higher up. I'm certain the elf with the two glowy green swords is the ranger class...
