    D&D 4E 4e Playtesters revealed!

Would the first step to solving that be inventing a time machine so you can actually playtest? :)

    Minion Fist Fights

The old wording confused the issue of auto-hits though, this new wording seems to indicate that damage auras do instantly kill minions. I'm sure there'll be a section in the DMG or MM that explains EXACTLY what they mean though.

    Traps preview

Seeing as the entire room on the splash page of the skills chapter is attempting to slaughter the PCs (and I mean the whole room, I really wish I could find a picture of it again), I think the ability to have such a room is the intention, with skill checks replacing attack rolls.

    Orcs preview

Skirmishers lose 8 HP per level (if the templates are to be believed). So the level 1 orc raider has 30 HP, 15 bloodied and regains 7 on his warrior's surge (if you want to go for completeness on the modifying. Leaving it at 11 wouldn't hurt much). XP is 100.

    Ugly Half-Orc Backstory

Two 4th edition jokes! The end is clearly nigh for OotS. WotC will be sending out the trained attack lawyers the second they mention anything about save and dies.

This is how I need to start referring to being set on fire.

I'm trying to reconcile the very basic countermeasures listed in the trap entries with this post: http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=15668481&postcount=15 There seems to be some larger advice or picture that's not clear from just looking at a trap's stat block.

    Paladins mark "fix" a plazebo?

Certainly makes the fighter in front, paladin tossing challenge from the back a nice opener though. Rake them over the coals and then trap them between the fighter and the paladin. It blows my mind whenever I realize we're talking about 1st level characters here...

That would make a good deal of sense and was the first possibility that occurred to me. But they also just might have changed the movement halting to a feat, gotten rid of it completely or any number of other things. "HURRY UP JUNE!"

    Undead Sourcebook in January 2009

To be fair, it's not the FR Campaign Guide (Supplement?) that contains the Swordmage. It's the FR Player's guide, which contains the Swordmage and other feats, powers, paragon paths, races, epic destinies and equipment, all which are FRish in nature. It's a FR themed PHB supplement in other...

    Keep on the Shadowfell preview

Doesn't. The ranged or melee wording is to specifically exclude area attacks. I would assume it makes the paladin the new target of the attack and he takes all the effects instead. Including being slid around, knocked prone, slowed, stunned, thrown, set on fire, drowned, partially turned to...

    Keep on the Shadowfell preview

It doesn't. Don't ask me to pull a source out, I don't know if I can, but I'm certain I've seen that exact question and the answer is temp HP doesn't stack. Let me see if I can find the source anyway though

Maybe, maybe not... Interesting that they're getting the house-ruling in on the development process though. Points for effort, even if it doesn't work out as well as they/we hope.

    Keep on the Shadowfell preview

I think I'm going to be going more for the "he's just that lucky" angle. "Oh, you managed to hit the orc's old war wound, opening it up and causing him to stumble in pain? Did you know it was there? No? Weird. Wonder why this stuff always happens to you?" More likely to be using a hand...
