    WoTC Interview with Rob Heinsoo

I think high level 3e wizards are at their strongest when focusing on save or die/suck spells. I've understood that dealing hp damage is suboptimal past a certain level.

Do you not play WOW? Forked Thread: Wil Wheaton plays and reviews 4th.

I play WoW and I also roleplay in it. It can be better than tabletop because of the anonymity factor and the freedom to choose from a large pool of potential good roleplayers. It can also be worse because of players who are either bad roleplayers or don't roleplay at all.

Which CRPG has the best STORY? (Forked from: Do you not play WoW?)

Yeah, Torment probably has the best story in a CRPG that I've played. However, the best story and atmosphere and the like in any computer game must've been in Grim Fandango. It's been a decade since its release but thinking about it still sends shivers down my spine. :D

Forked Thread: "The Death of the Imagination" re: World of Warcraft

Hey, you can roleplay in WoW too. It's fun, sometimes better than tabletop.

Anyone else wonder why they didn't combine the 3.5 spell system and the 4th edition..

I don't see how that differs much from 3e. Fighters and the rest roll their attack against opponents AC and deal damage, casters attack much in the same way, attack roll + damage or just damage and saving throw (inverted attack roll). 3e "utility" powers tend to give buffs to self or allies.

What direction will D&D head in?

I think it will keep on treading that well-tried path of violence leading to personal enlightenment.

"Lorraine Williams Scenario" Forked Thread: from Death of the LGS

WotC has "Core Game Product" as a type of book, others including "Accessory" and "Adventure". Then there's brand, some of which are "D&D Core" and "Forgotten Realms". PHB1 is a Core Game Product in the D&D Core brand, but PHB2 is an Accessory, yet branded a D&D Core book. So the 3 first books...

I just did something I never though I would do

Is it wrong to like both 3e and 4e? And Pathfinder?

How important is one edition/game system to you?

I can play and GM any game. I like variety. I also don't mind change for change's sake. :D

What on earth does "video-gamey" mean?

Are spellcasters in 3e and earlier editions more videogamey than non-spellcasters simply because they have flashy special effects due to their magical nature?

    4e on Best Seller lists

So if the sales for the core books would've tanked, you'd still say it's impossible to tell how popular the edition is? ;)

What Computer Game Designers can learn from DnD 4e

Looking at some powers, the ones that deal with movement and immediate actions, makes me think 4e wouldn't translate that well into a video game, at least not a real-time one. Turn-based would probably work pretty well.

Skull lords... looks pretty nice. A decent from Vohwinkel. I like the three head thing it's got going on.

What is the FONT they are using in KotS?

Didn't WotC do a font of their own for 3e books too?

    Magic of Incarnum Questions

Check page 52. It says, under "Soulmeld-Magic Transparency," that SR works against any effects caused by soulmelds that affect other creatures. I guess there's no official answer, but either the meldshaper could make certain individuals immune to the flames, just as he himself is immune, or...

    D&D 4E No evil gods in 4e?

Aren't most people unaligned in 4e? So a LG, CG, or LE character in 3e could just as well be unaligned in 4e, and only those with a strong connection to the supernatural concepts of good, evil, law, etc. have a proper alignment.

Wow, the roper looks scary. I always thought ropers were a little goofy, but this one is nice.

    pawsplay's dealbreaker list

I didn't read the whole thread, but there really aren't people who are going to say (with a serious face), "One reason why I don't want to play the new edition of Dungeons & Dragons make-believe world fantasy game is because the Monster Manual doesn't have frost giants." Right...? Frost...
