Ah, well, it depends on what other books you use with it. Say Dark Sun and Diskworld. Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GURPS_Discworld

On Absinthe Don't forget the legends of wormwood (Absinthe's active ingredient), which is a poison, can drive you mad, gives you a strong sex drive, and boosts your creativity. Still banned in most countries... Very interesting if a patron produces one of the banned massively boosted wormwood...

    What's a 15th level Githyanki to do...?

Tactics, builds, and common sense. 1) Druids in 3.5 DnD should have augmented summoning and a dire wolf companion is the way to go. Remember dire wolves has a free action trip. Hit them when they stand. And trees don't get crits because they are plant subtype when shifted. There are a few...

Bunnies and Burrows. Yup. You get to play a rabbit. Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunnies_and_Burrows I just picked up the PDF on Gurps website. Interesting read.

    Good point.

    capping D&D at 5th level?

Of course not! Killer kitties are cool! Spoilsport. You just don't like my super buffed attack kitties terroizing orcs. Nope, nope. Nanodamage, peh.

    capping D&D at 5th level?

You are the only one. There are millions of house cats world wide and I cannot find a single case of a house cat killing a human being. Although making the argument that house cats are effective man-killers warms my heart. Feral cats do. And they do attack people, however I cannot find a...

    capping D&D at 5th level?

Typical Buffs: "For that vile wee beastie..." 1st level Buffs: Magic fang (Druid), Mage armor (cat now has an AC of 18, Wiz), Shield of faith (cat has an AC of 20, Cleric). I mean in what other game system is a buffed battle trained house cat a viable concept. That's why DnD is cool. When...

    capping D&D at 5th level?

Nah, I do it because it is hilarious. Get a house cat and train it to be an attack cat and then buff it up with mage armor and the like... very amusing and cheap. Also if I wanted reality I would run Gurps.

    capping D&D at 5th level?

Very nice. My rule of thumb is as per the DMG, where most peasants are first level, have 2 hit points, and fear cats, ravens, rats, and small 20 lb. dogs. Yup. Street Legal (RAW).

    capping D&D at 5th level?

I disagree. First level characters are unrealistically weak on the "animal scale." 5th level is more realistic on the "animal scale."

    capping D&D at 5th level?

    1) They die, but not very often. 2) Yes, the die, but very rarely. 3 4) I agree. 5) Cool. Must try that. Most humans that deal with animals tend to be about 5th level on the DnD scale. Not first level.

    capping D&D at 5th level?

That happens. I never got infected by my cat. No, hit points are structural. Say a 20th level barbarian has a Con 20 and 236 hit points. He gets paralyzed. The bad guys strip him out of his armor. For entertainment they chop him with battleaxes (no coup de grace, since they are evil and...

    capping D&D at 5th level?

It's not a fringe case. It's all over the place. Example.... 1) Bull fighters. The defeat bulls without armor. What, these guys high level? 2) Rodeo Clowns. The deal with bulls. The mess with bulls, get tossed and live. Are they high level? 3) Knife hunters. My cousin and lots of...

What's almost? Was his intestines hanging out? Was his armed ripped off? Lost an eye? clawed to the point of unconsciousness? House Cats have the SQ: Filth Fever eh? Edit: I had a cat like that. I survived a full on claw-claw-bite. I still got the scars. I just laughed and let him down.

    Weird group makeup. Advice sought!

Now you want to make a suitably weird quest. The Laughing Rogue hung over after a long night promises the party a ring of three wishes for each of you if they bring him the ultimate bottle of wine or else you will have the worst luck you have ever had. *Hick*

    capping D&D at 5th level?

Absolutely. BTW my cousin hunts wild boars with a knife. Funny, he's no Einstein or Newton.

    capping D&D at 5th level?

Genius! It doesn't bother me. I like cats and ravens terrorizing my peasants. I almost had a TPK using a house cat I threw at the party. A raven dropped the Wizard and tried to drag him off. Quite amusing these ravens... Or an evil DM such as me... And when you have charm animal and need...
