D&D 5E (2014) Couple new Ideas, gauging interest

That's true. This leans more into 'Group Ritual' territory though. An interesting twist (if you can make it work).

D&D 5E (2014) Couple new Ideas, gauging interest

Overall, I really like this. Very warlock-esque: instead of spells being a big nebulous, catch all for a spellcaster's class features, give that spellcaster interesting class-specific features, while slimming down and focusing the class' spell list on thematically interesting spells. 10/10...

D&D 5E (2014) Couple new Ideas, gauging interest

Partner just seems like the special case of Chorus where the Chorus only has two folks in it. Why not simplify this and kick out Partner?

D&D General Satanic Panic at the Disco- Did Beelzebubba Cause D&D's First Crash, Y'all?

I've taken tango lessons with an ex. We were actually pretty decent at it! Put a rose in my mouth, they could have me in the dance school's ads. Congratulations on your wife's upcoming retirement!

D&D General Satanic Panic at the Disco- Did Beelzebubba Cause D&D's First Crash, Y'all?

So all your money went into ballroom dancing lessons and shopping trips to Bed, Bath & Beyond? 😬:)

Probably counting on the Church Karens breezing on by an inoffensive cover.

Why wouldn't it be okay? It's a messageboard... post what you like. You don't need anyone's permission. Cool list!

AI is going to hack us.

I think the term you mean is Machine Learning, not Large Language Model. Machine Learning is not intelligence. It's essentially using various mathematical/statistical models to make predictions. It is learning, in a sense, but it doesn't resemble what anyone would consider intelligence.

AI is going to hack us.

Is your concern that people will interact with text generated from LLMs as if it was spoken by human beings, or that this generated text will somehow become sentient and kill us all?

The price of streaming vs out right owning

I like to save money for things I really enjoy. Letting money drip away on things I don't use or care about is anathema to me. My money goes in one of three directions: into bare necessities, it's saved/invested, or it's spent on something awesome for me, my kids or my friends.

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

You keep posting in this thread. Your posts are all about anger and personal opinion. You're passionate about this topic, I get it. What your passion fails to bring to the table though is substantiation. If you want anyone to take what you're saying seriously, have you considered stuff like...

Essay writing teaches you to communicate effectively and to organise your thoughts. I think it's a valuable exercise myself.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

Although, with the blip, if you disappeared, you have to deal with everyone you know, and the world you knew being five years old. If you didn't disappear, half the people you knew were gone from your life, and there was no hope for return.

    [Prime] Citadel

I tried to watch it. Not terrible! But still too goofy for my tastes.

Your most "visceral" experience at a movie theater.

When I was 5 years old, I went to the local public library on a Saturday, where they hosted a kids' afternoon. The movie they showed that day was Nosferatu. That is hands down the most affected I've been by a movie, ever.

AI is going to hack us.

Not at all what I was saying. What I actually am saying is that the definition of potentially dangerous must be reasonable. If I say: "I have never walked down this street before; how do I know it isn't infested with saltwater crocodiles? I'd better conduct some experiments just to be sure!"...

What are must read short stories?

So many to choose from... How about Oscar Wilde? The Selfish Giant and The Happy Prince are incredible.

AI is going to hack us.

You have completely failed to understand the point I was trying to make. I appreciate your attempt at a rational response though. But maybe go back and reread and try again.
