RuneQuest and Modern20 seem like some other viable systems despite the 4E announce.

Given it's almost March and the license for 4E still isn't ready, and only early adopters who pony up the 5 grand get to publish in 2008, I'd expect at least some publishers to continue with 3.5 throughout 2008.

I picked it up. While a bunch of it is stuff I won't personally use (I don't play spellcasters...), a lot of it opens some doors that we've tried to houserule in games I've played in (feat swapping, taking a breather, 1st level hit points, etc). So, I'm happy with my purchase. :)

The rule is specific rule trumps over-arcing rule. The over-arcing rule is manifesters do not automatically get new powers known as they level over 20. The specific rule is psions get 2, psywars get 1. Wilders have no specific rule, so they follow the over-arcing rule (i.e. none).
