How hard do you make the game for your DM? (for players)

I'm not the greatest player in the world, but I try to stay in character as much as I can. My bad habits are OOC jokes and rules questions / objections. (I don't label myself a rules lawyer because I've been mostly successful at learning to let things drop once I've pointed out my question.)...

    Spycraft - Soldier/Wheelman Class Guide

It was definitely there, but didn't pick it up. I was sold on Spycraft from the demo I was in on Sunday, but haven't actually picked up the game yet. . . . . . . . -- Eric

    Hot guys at Gencon?

    So, I guess that answers the original question with a resounding "NO"? ;) :D . . . . . . . -- Eric

GENCON GAME: Against the Giants (GDQ) Scratch Game!

The mighty Howther Wakkier gets mightier by the minute!! First it was a pair of maximized fireballs. Now a maxed, a quickened, and a regular. Next thing you know I will be casting epic-level fire/acid/lightning/coldballs! :D Clearly, everyone was impressed by the firepower of the mighty...

What are the odds of getting a good GM at Gencon?

I make no claims to being a great GM, but I do put a lot of effort into it. Interestingly enough, either my standards are lower, or I have had exceptionally good luck both years I've attended GenCon. Leo did a great job: we weren't aiming for high drama, and his silliness got us all in the...

GENCON GAME: Against the Giants (GDQ) Scratch Game!

I, of course, played Wakkier, the mightiest Halfling Wizard of all time! (Well, I had decent stats and reasonable skills, anyway, which put me head and shoulders above the other PCs... not that I knew that when I took the character.) I vow that some day I shall find out what my Rod of Lesser...

    Hot guys at Gencon?

There were definitely pictures taken at Leo's Against the Giants table; IIRC, the fine folks at Dire Kobold should be posting them sometime soon. Then you can give us the final verdict in the Leopold / NegZero face off. ;) . . . . . . . -- Eric

    Hot guys at Gencon?

Sure, but the women forgot about him completely once they heard NegZero's accent. . . . . . . -- Eric

Borrowed bits in a campaign/kitbashed campaigns

I'm a big fan of "culling" pieces from different settings and supplements. My current D20 Rokugan campaign was written around the city boxed-sets I owned at the time; it was originally intended to revolve around 3 cities, which were respectively the City of Lies set (L5R), the Frieburg set (7th...

Gary Gyxax vs Morrus Celebrity Burping, to benefit GenCon RPGA Judges!

Wait, how do we benefit from watching Morrus and EGG bludgeon each other into unconsciousness? Er,... nevermind. I'm not sure I want to know. ;) . . . . . . . -- Eric

[GenCon] Hotel room available! Who wants it?

    FYI, the friends I mentioned earlier already have a reservation, so they won't need it. . . . . . . . -- Eric

I need 3e players in North Houston

My gaming schedule is full at the moment (unless you're looking at weeknights), but I'd love to get together with other gamers in North Houston just to chat and network. . . . . . . . -- Eric

Gary Gyxax vs Morrus Celebrity Burping, to benefit GenCon RPGA Judges!

Living Rokugan uses the 2nd edition system (d10 based, not d20 based). In the past, Call of Cthulu has used the BRP system; I suspect this is still the case. Looks like Living Force is d20-based, 'though. . . . . . . . -- Eric

Gary Gyxax vs Morrus Celebrity Burping, to benefit GenCon RPGA Judges!

FYI, you shouldn't have any difficulty getting the modules if you are signerd up as a judge and can view PDFs. (I found this out when I signed up and expressed the same 1-day before request.) BTW, I responded to this post, and will be running 4 slots of Living Rokugan for the early sessions...

    EN World Gen Con Gathering??

I believe you're mistaken. IIRC, they stopped putting names on badges last year out of privacy concerns or some such. Of course, you could just put a nametag sticker on the badge. . . . . . . . -- Eric

    I killed my wife's character!

I'll follow in footstep of sigfried's good advice make an attempt of my own: A) Ask her. Let her know that you're troubled and looking for solutions, but that you'd like to have her take part in deciding what the best course is. B) In my campaign, a shadow killed the NPC who was karmically...

adding the DRAGON to dungeons and dragons!

First, consider how "mushy" you want the PCs to be before the engagement even begins. Blue dragons can destroy water, but this one only at 30' range. They can also move fast enough to attack unattended objects (mounts, campsites) and escape while the PCs are busy with other problems. Cure...
