Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

loball, that's great! Would you be willing to run a D&D game? The day is scheduled August 2nd, at Great Escape Games, Sacramento. Folks, I'm going to delay sign-ups until we get a yes/no from loball. So, loball, would you be willing to run the Temple of Pazuzu? If so, terrific. If you have...

Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

Say, I've been pondering this, and I don't think I'm going to be able to make it. ... ... ... Nah, I'm just kidding. :p But I have been pondering, and bloodymage, why don't you send the Temple of Pazuzu over to Northcalgameday@yahoo.com I'll take a look at it, and, if I like it (which I...

    beavers the size of bears

There were once kangaroos with horns in Australia. Can you imagine the charging damage of one of those guys leaping at you, horns-first?

Dungeon vs. Polyhedron - Death Match

I love the Polyhedron mini-games, but I rarely read anything else in the Polyhedron portion. While I like having a mix of D&D and other d20 systems, I'd just plum prefer more adventures (while still retaining Polyhedron, of course).

Do you admit to being a gamer?

When I first started playing D&D in 7th grade, I kept it pretty secret from my friends. That continued until 10th grade, when I was worried that my friends would find out and I'd become double plus noncool (we were reading 1984 at the time). But then I taught one of those friends how to play...

The Adventures of the Knights of Spellforge Keep are now COMPLETED

Nice picture, Doc! I noticed, but never really mentioned, the Godzilla-like battle that Gorgoldand and Thuriaq went through, what with the smashing of buildings, blue fire breath, and rubber suits. Er... forget that last one.

How much use did you get from D&D 3.0e?

I ran (and played in) a Third Edition game right when it came out that went from 1st to 9th level... Then I had a number of campaign starts that never turned out... so I'll say a total of 6 levels total of that... Then I ran a campaign with a new group that went from 1st to... 4th level? I...

Is it harder to be a DM in a high-level campaign?

:D That's just great! Anyways, high level DM'ing can be difficult, but very rewarding from what I've heard. Although my current campaign will end at about 10th level, I'm planning for my next to go up to the teens. I think I'll try and break away from my linear approach of planning...

Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

So if we don't get a fourth DM, what games can people bring? So far, we've got Monster Island, Heroclix, and I've got a bunch of Cheapass Games, including "Kill Dr. Lucky," "Bitin' Off Heads," "Before I Kill You, Mr. Bond," and "The Great Brain Robbery." Does anyone have any other games they'd...

Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

That's okay, Talinthas, I know how it can be. But thanks for helping out with organizing so far! If any of your friends still want to come, just tell them to pop onto the boards and say "Hi!" Bloodymage- I figure, if we have three games, we have three games, and the rest of us will just play...

Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

Mm... giant monster island... I'll play! The best time would probably be after the fourth or third game, if Talinthas bows out of DMing.

Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

Sign-ups will start soon after Talinthas posts a yes/no... I'd like everyone to have an equal chance for everyone to play. But yup, we should get the names of those who can make it who aren't on the boards. Talinthas, who in your group can make it? Also, anyone else planning on bringing along...

    My clay Hellboy

That's his Right Hand of Doom. It turns out that Hellboy's destined to end the universe using the power within it, but Hellboy's not one for all that destiny mumbo jumbo.

    My clay Hellboy

So lately I've gotten into Hellboy, a comic by Mike Mignola. You can see some pictures of Hellboy here: http://www.yvonnenavarro.com/gifs/bookcvrs/hellboy.jpg http://www.hill-kleerup.org/dave/comics/images/hellboy.jpg http://www.terrediconfine.net/fumetti/images/hell/hellboy.jpg Basically...

Adding spice to the dungeon crawl

I hate to say this, but could my players please stay out of this thread? I'd hate to ruin any surprises for the future of my campaign. Thank you! Now, onto the real topic: If everything goes to plan, my next campaign is going to be pretty dungeon-heavy. There's going to be the classic dungeon...

Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

So that makes for 10-11 players in the morning, with 2 GMs, and 12-16 players in the evening, with 2 GMs. That means we're going to have, at minimum, 22 open slots for players, and at maximum 27, with an average of 24.5 open slots. Anyone know half-a-person who can make it? :p

Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

Sounds good, Talinthas. In the meantime, how many people do you folks think we'll be seeing here? I'd like four or five players in my game (I'm better with smaller groups than with larger ones), but in Talinthas' I suppose there'll be around 6, right? Bloodymage, how many people are going to...
