Creative Exercise: The Sovereign Dominion of Eyros

Common predators in the Dominion of Eryos include giant lizards and birds of prey, which often grow large enough to carry an entire lamb. Farmers also use a bull-sized variant of sheep, known as olxem, to do heavy farm work.

Creative Exercise: The Sovereign Dominion of Eyros

First of all, I just wanted to say this is turning out really cool. I'd love to run a game in which the characters fight this secret cabal of necromancers (and their evil dryad ally), get to meet the roguish pirate Darrenback, and fight giant elf-ogres deep in the forest. Great job everybody...

Creative Exercise: The Sovereign Dominion of Eyros

Working off of this idea: A tree known as Bloodwillow often grows from the blood-soaked soil. The large black fruit it grows is full of seeds- and absorbed blood. This fruit, known as Clot Apples (ew!) can be used to give power to necromantic rituals and spells. Entire secret valleys full of...

Creative Exercise: The Sovereign Dominion of Eyros

By the way, Mouse, I just wanted to say that this is a terrific idea for a new thread, and I'm loving the results so far!

Creative Exercise: The Sovereign Dominion of Eyros

Halflings have escaped the Dominion of Eyros by turning to the sea- they now have gargantuan floating colonies of latched-together ships, rafts, and boats that drift with the currents.

And then you have a nice winter, whilst the wizard slaves in the lab...

I've always had trouble planning out "Downtime" in my past campaigns, but I'm thinking of really applying it in my new one. The characters just witnessed the death of the Spire Council (the government of the kingdom, basically), were framed for it, escaped guards, waged through "The Gauntlet,"...

What is Arcana Evolved/Unearthed Arcana like?

While two of the classes have Class Armor bonuses (Unfettered [swashbuckling-types] and Oathsworm [monk-types]), Armor Class works just like in D&D.

A lawful good paladin riding the fence? Wow, I usually only allow Warhorses as mounts for paladins. ... :P

Describe your homebrew in one sentence.

Great idea for a thread! Hm... I suppose my current campaign, summed up in one sentence, would be so: As war between Celestials and Abyssals engulf the Spire Territories, it is the hero's task to fight for the survival of the mortal men.

Let's talk about movement. (new questions, post #12)

Keep in mind this is all off the top of my head. All these are only for in-combat movements: 1) For sand and rocks, I might hamper movement based off of armor. Light or no armor takes no penalty, medium armor would have a 30% chance of hampering movement (half speed), and heavy armor would have...

BBEGs with really bad sounding nicknames from the PCs...

I still get red-faced at the characters' treatment of Saldivar, a guy who turned into a snake, who, through player teasing, became the rather flamboyant adversary "Thaldivar the Thathy Thnake." I will never forget... never...

Wowzas! That is an excellent wolf! And the warforged quite simply rocks as well.

Carmen Sandiego is terrific! I saw it and, even before reading your description, throught "Where in the world is..." :D I also like Dr. Wily. And the Halflife Dude. Your concepts are so simple yet great!

Who else is having a GREAT day?

My day started off terrifically. After my third night of 10-hour-sleeps in a row, I had a nice breakfast and started walking to class. Along the way, I began to think of how college is going, and (despite really enjoying the heck out of it) if it's worth all the money my parents are spending...

    The (new) ENworlder age poll!

I'm 18 myself. I remember back in the day when I was amongst the few 13 and 14 year olds on the board. There was me, my friend Tarius, and (supposedly) Tiefling. The three T's. Heh, yup... those were the days...

These new pieces are terrific, Acquana! I love the Mario piece. I always wanted to run a Mario D&D game. Mario would be a paladin, Yoshi would be his special mount, Luigi would be a monk, Toad could be a rogue, etc.

    Character Creation Time?

Wow. I'm surprised how long it takes people. For me, it's 30 minutes at the most. Usually around 10 to 15 minutes, if even that. Even if I have no idea what I'm going for, I can usually come up with a solid concept during creation.
