That echoes my thoughts exactly :)
"Nerfherder" was part of my first email address in the 90's - unfortunately, some band then picked the same name and it's difficult to find it unused now when I create accounts :(
Yeah, I'm generally liking the look of this (and am glad I've backed the KS for the physical book), but I am a little confused by the nomenclature in this sample.
Why is a beastman warrior worse at fighting than a hunter - I would have expected it to be the other way round?
Most adult beastment...
Yeah, I work in a city called Newcastle (of Brown Ale fame). It is named after the new castle, that was built in 1080AD. I guess that the main fortifications before that would have been part of Hadrian's wall, 1000 years previous.
I've heard it with 100 years/miles over a dozen times on message boards.
In my limited experience, I've found it easier to drive long distances in the US than the UK simply because you will be lucky to drive more than an hour here before hitting some kind of hold-up. Obviously there are...
I think the nearest I've heard is "that's not cricket" - with the implication that the English are honest, moral, and sporting (and that being more important than winning).
I started running the adventure last night. All went well until the characters encountered the rot grubs, and I suddenly realised that I didn't have 5e stats for them - so I just made them up on the spot and I don't think the players realised.
Thanks.

Thanks for the explanation. I've seen it more and more on non-UK kickstarters, and it has made me pickier about which ones I choose the physical product option for. Looking at the last "International" kickstarter I backed, it was actually being published by Pelgrane Press, so shipping to UK...
I usually miss them, too. I think this is the first time I managed to snag one.
The $35 postage did make me pause and think about going PDF only - but I really like having the core books in physical format to browse through.
I've downloaded the free traveller's guide, and that's sold me. This is the first 5e product, other than the 3 core books, that's actually got me excited.
No, not at all.
Many have different constitutions, laws, languages, traditions, values, currency (even if many use the Euro).
Just look at the UK & France, which differ in all those things.
I've played in a very enjoyable post-apocalypse game set in my home county, with 3 other local players. We had multiple tablets out on the table, with the GM telling us what had changed as we made our way along.
