More Infos About DDI / Campaign Tools

Well, there's "starting" and there's "starting" :). Presumably, they now have resources in place (hardware and personnel), platform and architecture agreed, processes defined and developers and managers who have used them in anger. Going through the loop a second time should be much quicker...

More Infos About DDI / Campaign Tools

Totally agree. Coming from a large project software development background, I have been pleasantly surprised by the decisions they have been making recently, and how they've delivered. They have focussed on the thing that most people want - the character generator - along with the Compendium...

Amazon delays again (aka "No PHB2 for Russ")

My Arcane Power shipped from amazon.co.uk Friday. I may have it Monday, but most likely Tuesday or Wednesday.

Amazon delays again (aka "No PHB2 for Russ")

amazon.co.uk. The price has risen since I pre-ordered in November, but they honour the lowest price between the time ordered and the time shipped, so I get it for £11.21.

Amazon delays again (aka "No PHB2 for Russ")

I've found that if I pre-order a book on amazon.co.uk shortly after it is announced, then it ships pretty much on time. Since we're always a little behind the US, I check reviews and cancel if it doesn't sound as good as I expected.

ARGHHH! Who put this HIVE here?!

The mother is definitely 15-year old Chantelle Steadman, and the last I heard 13-year old Alfie Patten wanted a DNA test to prove he was the father, as there were suggestions that the mother had slept with a number of other men/boys at the time of conception. Lovely story!

    First New Monster Minis Previewd

Most of the figures look better than the supposedly Rare-quality PHB minis (at least from the pictures). I'll probably buy some of these to add to my collection of Orcs, Goblins, etc.

The People's Court: Should I Pay for New Brakes?

Whereas I'm of the opinion that people should take personal responsibility for their actions. If you want to drive/pilot a vehicle, then it's your responsibility to make reasonable checks that a) you know how to do it (including knowing how all the controls work!) and b) you do reasonable...

The People's Court: Should I Pay for New Brakes?

Your sister is responsible for knowing how to operate her vehicle, it's her responsibility to know how all the controls work, and it's her responsibility that the car is properly maintained and is safe. Unless the law is different in your country/state. Sure, you can operate a car with the...

The People's Court: Should I Pay for New Brakes?

The driver is responsible for operating a car correctly - and that includes taking off the parking brake. I find it difficult to imagine not noticing it was on, though, warning light or not. However, I think offering to pay was a decent thing of you to do. Especially since it was you who let...

    Signing up for The Draft

I'm 41, and we currently have no conscription in the UK. It ended 6 weeks before my father was due to do his National Service. I was in the Air Cadets when I was a teenager, and decided that there were other things I wanted to do more than have a career in the military. I'm personally glad we...

Hive got you under my skin

True - we're packed tight enough to make a train system work. I much prefer driving, though - the soundtrack is much nicer

Hive got you under my skin

Don't worry - it's not going to be law. It was some research done on how best to reflect light by paint and windows, which got spun into a news story. Currently UK fuel duty is 64p per litre of gasoline, or the equivalent of $4.28 per US gallon. Driving in the UK is *far* more expensive than...

Hive got you under my skin

I believe the reasoning given is because cars with darker coloured paint heat up in the sun more, so people use their A/C more, which uses more gas. Yeah, here's the story here: PistonHeads Headlines Not too much of a problem in the North East of England! Edit:oh, and it seems that it was...
