    What's the Deal with GriefCom?

Actually he (and I) are basing what I should pay based on the price I can get at Amazon.com. Fine, but people working for on-line vendors have kids to feed too.

    What's the Deal with GriefCom?

Well, I don't even have a LGS, much less a FLGS, so it's not even an option anyway. And I'm not sure how not buying books anymore would -help- authors, since it sure as heck wouldn't make their royalties check go up. That's why there's a legal system there, if someone is getting screwed, they...

    What's the Deal with GriefCom?

I disagree with this line of thinking. In this particular example (I understand other people have other beefs), Amazon isn't doing anything wrong. WotC is, -using- Amazon, and screwing authors. Thing is, in that case, WotC is the one in the wrong. By not buying from Amazon -because of that-...

Wing and Sword: a d20 Modern military campaign [METAGAME]

Thanks indeed, although I'm not always a meathead, despite what the evidence indicates.

    What's the Deal with GriefCom?

Of course! The first post I meant to do would have been.. But then again, by this point the thread has moved way past what the original topic was.

    What's the Deal with GriefCom?

Not really. Just like the authors should look out and get the best deal possible for them, I'll continue to try and get the best deal for me.

    What's the Deal with GriefCom?

Oh, so WotC does consider Amazon, but not other on-line sellers. That's like saying a store doesn't sell any RPGs because they only sell D&D stuff.

    What's the Deal with GriefCom?

I'm with DaveMage here. I got quite a few WotC books on Amazon, all at a deep discount, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

Eberron - Characer afflictions from the Mourning

Depending on how long (in game terms) you plan/intend the campaign to go on, you could introduce an interesting twist to the effect eventually. Instead of just looking 10 years older one morning, he looks dead. Maybe a gaping wound "appears", maybe he just starts appearing as if he's rotting...

So why didn't WotC release a setting based on Magic the Gathering?

Make sure you make the minotaurs into a playable race, and make them inhabit the Maze of Ith. That's what I played, and it was fun! :)

So why didn't WotC release a setting based on Magic the Gathering?

Exactly. The game I played in was M:TG inspired. There's no need to translate all M:TG spells to D&D. Take the existing D&D spells, and separate them by Color. You can always add a few that might be missing, if need be. Create M:TG monsters either by using regular D&D monsters, sometimes...

    Party of Almost Purely Tanks

My group is very tankish too. They have a fighter/rogue and a cleric. Everybody else is purely about melee damage. They were doing good (very good in fact) until they met a black pudding. Holy crap. A few days (in-game) later, they met a demon that was all about charming. I actually had...

Wing and Sword: Life During Wartime

Normand wipes off his knife on the ground, and then on his pants before re-sheating it. He then grabs the corpse, and drops it in his pack, thinking he might make some money out of the corpse. "Ahh Doc, ya need to drop a grenade at your own feet, and have it blow up. I'm telling ya, it puts a...

So why didn't WotC release a setting based on Magic the Gathering?

To this day, my very favorite D&D campaign happened in a Homebrewed world that was heavily M:TG inspired. Note that it happened a few months after the Legends set release, and therefore before 3rd edition. It was a heavily home-ruled AD&D 2nd edition game. The 5 Gods who existed in the...

Wing and Sword: a d20 Modern military campaign [METAGAME]

*grin* Then again, Normand was built to deal with melee opponents easily, so the fact that he overcame a snake shouldn't be a surprise. But I'm glad he was able to do so with style. Edit: And yes, snakeskin is valuable! I'm still worried that my backgroudn will come back to bite me in the...

Tell me the composition of your campaign groups

Wing and Sword: Life During Wartime

Normand quickly pulls out his knife, and plants it in the snake's head. Looking to Marcel, he shrugs. "Hope ya ain't a snake-lover, doc. Me, I hate the suckers."

Wing and Sword: Life During Wartime

"Gah! Bordel de merde!" Purely by reflex, Normand attempts to crush the head of the reptile with his boot. OOC to-hit (1d20+7=19) damage (non-lethal) (1d6+4=9)

With any luck, that snake will only get to attack once... I'll wait until you post it's action before I do so, since what it does (and wether or not it succeeds) would change how Normand reacts.

    3.5, core classes forbidden

I really don't see how not having turn undead is that huge a deal, really, assuming the DM keeps it in mind, anyway, and doesn't stock adventures with "extra" undeads to suck 'em up. It's not like a lack of healing, trap detecting, or damage dealing, which would -really- be a problem.
