Dark Sun: Weapon Breakage Rules, Can They Be Better?

So, you want to tax my crits by penalizing me for rolling well? I roll crappy all day, and finally get a 20, and you want to take my weapon away? No thanks. I'll stick with the choice to reroll a 1 and break my weapon over some slave trader's head.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

And took centuries to reach the current forms we know. They weren't the static games they are now.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

3e - Region (area you're from). 4e - Background (are you're from). Multi-Class Only Class - Spellscarred. New Class - Swordmage. 3e - Dragonmarks. New Class - Artificer. 4e - Dragonmarks. New Class - Artificer. Not an actual setting in 4e. Merely the inspiration for the Domains of Dread...

Print On Demand solving the issue of errata

If you break down what is actually errata/rules updates, it's not as big as that page count suggests. A good deal of that is repetition and explanation for the change, not the actual change itself. For example, the actual change for Healer's Lore is to change "grant healing" with “let a creature...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

It seems like the process went: "How can we reflect the Warlord's unique flavor in a combat ability? The Warlord should offer additional tactical superiority to his allies. It has powers that actually do that to the players at the table, by giving someone bonus attacks and additional movement."

Review of the RPGA Reward "Tomb of Horrors"

Does anyone know how I can actually get into contact with the RPGA in order to see why I haven't been receiving any of my DM Rewards, despite qualifying for them? Their site is completely worthless.

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

I am failing to see how the players' failure to remember fundamental things about their characters is anything but their own fault (unless they have some kind of memory problem or something). Having crazy spells that stopped time or reversed gravity never made me forget that my 2e fighter/mage...

Did we know this? (Raven Queen...)

I like her because she died. She didn't become uber-powerful and become a deity in life (like DP Bane; I do like your version better, Ari), nor did she cheat death by becoming undead (Vecna), or even serve and betray a god to take his place (Asmodeus). She died. She moved to the afterlife and...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

 Okay, let me get this straight... ...after 10 sessions, you haven't paid enough attention to the other characters to know what weapons they wield? Or is it that they don't express what weapons they are wielding in a way you can understand? ...and this other player doesn't know when...

D&D 4E Essentials isn't 4.5e, but is 4e as we know it over?

An update to an existing power is entirely different than new builds for an existing class. The first is explicitly meant to replace its predecessor, while the latter is meant to exist alongside it.

Did we know this? (Raven Queen...)

When she attempted to become a god-tyrant like Nerull, the other gods said "Oh, hell no." and made her the goddess "of death" (rather than "of the dead," like Nerull was). She hates the other gods for denying her the full power of Nerull, and forever works towards breaking those limitations.

    Summoning, attack, bonus and penalty

A temporary one is one with a specified duration, such as "until the end of your next turn" or "until the end of the encounter" or "on your next attack roll" or "when you take an extended rest." No. It does not have a duration, and therefore is not temporary. I'd say no, because that's a...

Essentials nostalgia - the death of martial healing

I'm still trying to sort that out, but it appears to be that the warlord will never be used again by players or further developed by WotC because it's not in Essentials and there are a couple of kids in Nebraska that don't have internet access.

Essentials nostalgia - the death of martial healing

Death of martial healing? Wow. The melodrama is thick. Is it also the death of Arcane healing, since there's no artificer or bard? Or how about the death of Psionic everything, since no psionic classes will show up? Or how about the death of gnomes? Or goliaths? No new players will ever see or...

    Daily Powers are Great

More options. Greater diversity. I have players who worry about wasting their dailies so much they rarely ever use them, and they begin to view the existence of dailies as a waste. I have other players who like to throw around powers as much as possible, and end up burning every big gun quickly...

What would WotC need to do to win back the disenchanted?

The fluff and mechanics aren't changing. It's still 4e mechanics and 4e fluff. The only real big changes are the new builds, which don't change the game, they just add new build options. If anything, they're doubling down by doing a second 4e core rules release and books like the Nentir Vale...

D&D 4E Essentials isn't 4.5e, but is 4e as we know it over?

I wouldn't. But, then again, I know that Essentials is fully compatible, because they've said it a number of times. Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Beyond Essentials ...) Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Wizard Preview)

Review of the RPGA Reward "Tomb of Horrors"

Hopefully they get them out to everyone in the first wave, too. I didn't get Village of Hommlet last year, despite updating in time for the second wave, and this year I've updated my info twice so far (in February and May).
