    Sultans of Smack

How is the ultimate smackdown defined? Was a ranger/barbarrian/fighter/tribal protector/weapon master or something already suggested?

Noob Question about wielding 2 handed weapons

Okay, this may be a Noob question... As a medium creature one can use a large weapon 2 handed (human wielding greatsword). But, can you, as a medium creature, wield a medium weapon 2 handed (so can a human wielda longsword 2 handed? and how about a dagger)?

    Sultans of Smack

I know of a baddie who can take infinite damage without dieing. It must be a cleric, who casted a) favor of illmatar b) monstrous regeneration Explanation: b) converts all damage (except fire and acid) to subdual damage a) means you are immune to subdual damage Thus your Banite is invincible!

    D&D 3.x 3e Beginner Question

Prestige classes are cool for adding better abilities to your character than you would've gotten if you gained a lvl in your normal class.

    Does being invis stop AoO?

To simplify things I would say you get an attack of opportunity against an invisible opponent only if you know what square he's in.

This is a very good story. I especially liked, well... all of the stories really.

    Melee Cleric Build

on their own, clerics outshine any class, including the wizard. however in a 'standard' party i would say the figher is the better 'fighter', for a couple of reasons: a) the cleric must heal others b) the cleric must cast buffing spells first before going into combat. Stuff like Divine Power...

    Melee Cleric Build

However your will never be as good as the fighter/barbarrian/tribal defender, buffed with GMW by the party cleric. In any case, fight with a 2 handed weapon: Mercurial Greatsword because it works the best with cleave. Also take Power Critical then.

    Melee Cleric Build

What usually works best is to just post your first try here and then get suggestions, that usually works best. Do you play in a party, how would that party be made up?

    Revised DR

What do you propose for a 'better' DR system? Right now DR is pretty much useless in almost all cases. In a very few (far too few) cases parties need to flee and regroup with a better weapon. DR 20/+1, the monk's 20th power, is useless in most cases.

    Revised DR

Cool! A 16th lvl fighter with 32 str would do about 45 damage each turn against a DR 15 creature with ac of 40. Of course, using a greatsword (the only way to go) 2 handed, with +5 and keen properties. This is of course without taking into account: - Rhino Hide armor - Rigeous Wrath of the...

    Revised DR

GMW still is good because it penetrates by 5 points the damage resistance of every monster! As for haste, if spellcasters can't cast 2 spells, fighter shouldn't get a full attack action anymore if they stand 'in reach', so to speak. but that's a totally other discussion.

Why hate 3eR before it comes out?

Indeed. I will do that too, that doesn't cost anything. It may be dry material to read though. Mouseferatu, about the post you made about WotC being a business: Excellent!

    Revised DR

Im all for the new DR system. As it was it wasn't any good. This is a good change because it lowers all the damage resistance across the board, giving a party without the right tools still a fighting chance. Or more of a fighting chance than they had in the first place. But I also like the...

what 4th and 5th level spells?

Sending for communicating important messages to your allies. This is a very useful spell. Arcane eye is for scouting the entire dungeon and surroundings. Improved Invisibility Polymorph Other - turn fighter into troll. or stone giant. or that uber giant with 36 str in mm2. this spell -as...

Having a good player group rocks. Seems like you were just wasting your time with the group you just described.

Thanks, guys, you've ruined Haste for the rest of us.

Okay, let me get this straight. So when the combat ended after the third round, and the wizard kept on casting his spells in the air against an imaginative foe, then yes, the wizard would be out of spells in the 10th round. Yes, you do have a point.
