What 4e products have you purchased?

I bought the core so that my group could give 4e its chance. I will not be buying any further 4e books.

I was "booed" for even showing the 4e Core books

They're both stupid and things that I would rather not deal with. So no, there's no difference.

I was "booed" for even showing the 4e Core books

You brought it up first, but fine.

How is toilet humor not childish?

    Impact of mechanics on roleplay

That's actually a pretty neat idea.

    3e, 4e, and Group Schisms

You lost a player in your 4e group; that sounds like a schism to me, even if he is still playing in your 3e games.

    3e, 4e, and Group Schisms

I'm curious. 4e seems to have polarized the community quite a bit, but I hear that 3e did the same - unfortunately, I was a bit too young to be paying attention to that kind of thing, so I have no idea as to the truth of these statements. Either way, I'm not really interested in having that...

    4E value < 3E value

Just going to clarify that Obryn missed my point.

...because it happens all the time. It sounds like a rather reasonable position to me. Again, we have wandered into opinion-land. Neither is vitriol, but hey, here we are.

    4E value < 3E value

We have now wandered into opinion-land. You think it is not; I think it is. And that's why I said it.

    4E value < 3E value

Man, the first few responses were full of carefully-concealed vitriol.

    4E value < 3E value

Do I personally? Perhaps... I'm currently in the midst of mulling that idea over. I imagine that my verdict will be a definite "no," but I think that a lower word count will probably play a part in indicating if something is "dumbed down" - a contributing factor, but not the deciding one...

    4E value < 3E value

I have no stake in this edition war. There are a number of folks - more on the 4e side, but they're on both - who will defend their chosen edition to the death, and engage in some pretty astounding feats of irrationality and passive-aggressiveness to do so. Sounds like a zealot to me. And...

    4E value < 3E value

It is hostile. Thinly-veiled with what some would call "civility," perhaps, but hostile nonetheless.

    Forked Thread: Shaking it Off

I'm not really sure what this means, then, if this is OGC.
  18. GnomeWorks

    4E value < 3E value

A very reasonable assessment. Call a spade a spade, yo. There are undoubtedly zealots on both sides. If you don't like the title, then don't act in accordance with it.
  19. GnomeWorks

    4E value < 3E value

I guess not. You were being "civil," sure. If you like. Again, I didn't really see it that way, but fair enough.
  20. GnomeWorks

    4E value < 3E value

Pot, kettle. So it's not okay and unreasonable for someone to hate on the 4e layout, but you can bash the 3e layout all you like?
