    Repainting Miniatures question?

For those of you not familiar with Pine Sol, I BELIEVE it is primarily amonia (sp?). It is used primarily to mop floors. I got several minis totally paint and primer free. I was puzzled for a moment as to why they looked so grey, until i realized that these minis are made out of lead, not...

    Repainting Miniatures question?

Update The Pine Sol is working great. There's a few spots I couldn't scrub off with the toothbrush just yet, but I'll let it sit overnight to think about wether it wants to really put up a fight or not. One scare though... I spent the better part of an hour standing over the sink with the...

and that will remove the primer as well? cool! I threw a half dozen in an old tupperware container just now. I have it sealed shut, does that matter?

    Repainting Miniatures question?

I've got several old, difficult to replace miniatures that have horrible paint jobs. My question is... how do I get the old paint off? Can I fill a big jar with standard paint thinner and let the mini sit submerged in it for a week? Will something like nail polish remover help? Now, some of...

I never rolled so many nat. 20s in my life!

Last night's game, I rolled more natural 20's in 3 hours than the entire party combined has in 4 months of gaming. Unfortunately for the PC's, I'm the DM. Three 5th level characters were almost destroyed by four 1 hit die orcs. I was running them thru a slightly modified Forge Of Fury...

Skull of Vindictive Augury - custom item

Thanks PC. I envision that the first few times the players use it out in the field where some stealth is in order, that the skull will shout as loudly as possible, giving away thier position. Or in the relative privacy of thier room at the Inn, only to have thier neighbors hear all mannor of...

    Force Bullets (custom item)

I like it. Would a fighter be able to use these by the standard rules on magic item use?

    Do gems dissolve in acid?

Pardon my ignorance on gems and acid in the real world, but would a black dragon be able to store gems in a vat of acid without said gems dissolving? If it matters, the gems are rubys and diamonds. Are there any metals that are immune to acid (sttel, bronze, gold)? Certain kinds of stone...

Skull of Vindictive Augury - custom item

Here's another item my players may find in the next game: Skull of Vindictive Augury: Description: A very battered human skull etched with an indecipherable script, possibly not a language at all, but a decorative design resembling obscure writing. Powers: Once per day, a yes or no question...

Minor Necklace of Stoneform - custom item

Here's a new Magic Item my players might find: Minor Necklace of Stoneform History: Created by ancient dwarven craftsmen to provide some measure of protection to thier clansmen in the deepest, hottest caverns in volcanic regions where excessive heat prevented the use of heavy armor...

What is more important author or company and would you pay more????

I didn't vote, because the option I would have picked wasn't listed. Author matters some, but subject matter is most important. Also, certain companies I will ALWAYS stay away from, no matter who wrote it (FFE)

    [OT] Hilarious Stonehenge website!!

Hey guys, check out this Stonehenge presentation!! It is VERY HILARIOUS!! You have to be able to hear the sound though, so turn up the sound or you will miss it, and watch it all the way thru. Trust me, it is worth it! http://people.freenet.de/freeek/SajjadAli.swf

    Dwarven Forge Products

I have ALOT of Dwarven Forge stuff. My problem with using it is that unless you set it up ahead of time (before the game), it is too hard to build it as the players explore. Building it in advance is not a great idea either because then the players can see the layout before they are there.

    Bolas

There are some slightly different stats and rules for Bolas in the Dragon magazine that says "Warriors kick ass!" on the cover. It's the second or third issue after 3rd edition changeover.

    Dragon 300: The Definitive Review

I though it was a good issue except for the fact that my mailman tied my copy to the back of his mailtruck and dragged it all the way to my house, then wadded it into a ball and stuffed it sideways into my mailbox.

The Quintessential Fighter - What do you all think?

At a glance on the store shelf, I was put off by the Quint Fighter. The mechanics did not look sound or balanced. I own and have read quite a bit of the Quint. Monk book, which I like quite a bit. There are a few things I thought were so-so (like the most of the character concepts), There was...

    Theme Sorcerers

I didn't read all the above posts, so if I'm repeating someone else before me, just ignore. One of my players has a monk/sorcerer who only knows spells that enhance his physical ability in some way. For example: True Strike Bull Strength Cats Grace Mage Armor Detect Magic They are all spells...
