    Dread October's Dice-orcism

We were discussing dice rituals in our group. One of our friends has the worst luck and also the worst taste in dice - his are quite ugly - and Dread October came up with this Dice-orcism. These are his words, unedited. Enjoy! Day One - Step 1: Lay all dice on a table. Step 2: Surround...

    Possible Victoria PbP Game?

Actually, I haven't gotten that far in my thinking, Festy. :) In our table top game, we use 3.5 rules, mostly core, and use the old roll 4d6 drop the lowest number for determining scores. We tend to stick to mostly core classes or variations on core classes (such as the urban ranger Kid...

    Possible Victoria PbP Game?

Just a little more background: it's the setting I use for my regular (as in tabletop) D&D games. I use a few steampunkish elements, but not many. There are firearms, but they aren't as common, due to magic and magic items. I use the Iron Kingdom firearms rules for ease of use as I'm more...

    Possible Victoria PbP Game?

Hello everyone! I've never tried this before, so I am testing the waters. :) I'm thinking about running a PbP in my Victoria D&D setting. Briefly, it is D&D played in an "alternate-reality" 19th century Earth. It's called Victoria because I tend to run games at least starting in London, but it...

Age of Worms - Likes/Dislikes? [MY PLAYERS KEEP OUT]

As a disclaimer, I have not played or run these adventures. I have read every adventure, though, and I feel that they're a bit uneven in style. That is, some are much more interesting and ingenious than others. Also, I'm not a fan of Kyuss and I'm sort of tired of the epic...

Which DND God would you worship?

It depends on the setting! :D Should I find myself in the Forgotten Realms, I'd have to find myself the nearest temple of Oghma. In Greyhawk...Wee Jas, probably. I haven't played in Eberron yet, but probably either Onatar, Arawai, or Aureon, since I have interests that fall in these gods'...

Are there any fan-made compilings of M:tG worlds to use as D&D campaign settings?

I vaguely remember that there was a blog where someone was converting cards into magic items, NPCs, etc. But, I think it had to be taken down due to some copyright issues. I haven't seen anything like it since.

The Golden Key: From the Casebook of Nigel Spenser (Updated 9/16)

Aw, thanks, Sniffles! I did write them, for better or for worse (I probably missed some British spellings/grammar in there somewhere) - I love giving out handouts like letters, maps, drawings, excerpts from books, whether its something I've written or something from a real book (which does come...

    Dreamblade minis?

While poking around on Wizards' site, I saw this mini game called Dreamblade: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dbm/welcome I hadn't noticed it before and I don't think I'd seen it mentioned here. The minis actually look pretty cool - I don't play mini games myself (unless you count D&D...

Anyone else trying to buy special mini?

FYI - if you haven't been able to get through to the store yet, I was able to finally place an order just a few moments ago. It seems there are still some left. :)

Not a magical property, but it did smell like saliva.

War of the Dragon Queen - Complete set list and pictures!

For the first time, I'm actually excited about the human(oid) figures - they look really really good, especially the Warden of the Wood and the Tavern Brawler. Even if they look only as half as good as the pictures here, they'll still be impressive.

    Map of London around 1920

You are welcome! :) Since you asked for an underground map, too, I did some poking around and found this site: http://underground-history.co.uk/front.php Details about "lost" stations. :] It also has a 1929 map of London with stations and railways marked.

    Map of London around 1920

OK, I'm going to let you in on my secret weapon. I run a campaign in Victorian England and this web site has a brilliant interactive map: http://www.ph.ucla.edu/epi/snow/1859map/map1859.html It can be slow-running, so you have to be patient. The map is also much older than you requested, but...

I started the PopCultureCrap group out of boredom two years ago - I was tired of all the off-topic chatter on other groups I moderate or belong to and I thought it would help reduce it. I thought it would be a neat idea just have somewhere to talk about TV, commercials, movies, comic books, etc...

    Just Found a Fantastic Resource

While researching a project for my job, I stumbled across something wonderful: MIT's OpenCourseWare: http://ocw.mit.edu/OcwWeb/Global/AboutOCW/about-ocw.htm Lectures, study materials and bibliographies for several courses in several departments, some with video or audio components. Lots of...

What are the biggest real-life hinderances to your gaming?

The number one reason for me is that the schedules in our group just don't match up sometimes. But, I also chose "other" for a lot of reasons. For example, the weekend after this one is my sister's 40th birthday party, my niece's graduation and the return of my cousin from active duty in Iraq...

The Golden Key: From the Casebook of Nigel Spenser (Updated 9/16)

It is taking all of my willpower not to post something snarky about Vittorio Matteo. :] Just wanted to say thanks again for the story hour - you're doing an excellent job and it's always fun to see how the campaign looks through someone else's eyes.
