    D&D 5E (2024) New Survey Results | Druid & Paladin | Unearthed Arcana | D&D

They said they want to separate the Paladin and the Ranger more, that the Paladin should be melee not Ranged. That suggests they want to define it more and they got feedback that Ranged Paladins were stepping too much on Rangers. That's my reading of the what they were saying in the video...

    D&D 5E (2024) New Survey Results | Druid & Paladin | Unearthed Arcana | D&D

Yes, you can, BUT the way the devs are talking, they want to take away Archery Style again and really push the Paladin into a melee focus.

    D&D 5E (2024) New Survey Results | Druid & Paladin | Unearthed Arcana | D&D

Sacred Archers too. I feel like Kikyo from InuYasha is more of a Paladin than a Ranger or a Cleric. I'm also worried about hiding ranged Paladin behind a subclass would mean that you can't play your character until 3rd level because you're forced to use melee weapons or fists until then. And...

Not DnD: Rob Heinsoo Talks 13th Age 2nd Edition

13th Age is what I like to call D&D 4.75e, much as Pathfinder was 3.75e. So as Pathfinder 2E was 3.75.2, this would be 4.75.2. :p

Plenty Of Time To Die: A Shadowdark Review

As far as I can tell, this doesn't seem to be set in the Shadowdark, but is rather a generic OSR-style setting… false advertising, much? I can see a bunch of people thinking this is a sourcebook for the Underdark of the Shadowfell, which has been known as the Shadowdark since 2008.

WotC Announces OGL 1.1 -- Revised Terms, Royalties, and Annual Revenue Reporting

See, but I'm 90% sure they had to work out their own independent licensing agreement behind the scenes to make that happen, and will be paying royalties of their own sort soon…

WotC Announces OGL 1.1 -- Revised Terms, Royalties, and Annual Revenue Reporting

There's a somewhat popular video game based on the 5e SRD and OGL 5.0a. Clearly video games and apps are excluded to make it so if you want to use their IP in the future they'd have to work out an individual licensing deal… In addition, I can see how the royalties are important for highly...

Dragonlance WotC Officially Confirms Takhisis and Tiamat Are The Same

NYTimes The Daily does a disturbingly amazing podcast episode on the benefits and dangers of ChatGPT. I'm excited and terrified for what's in store as this becomes as integrated into our tech as Siri and Alexa are.

Dragonlance WotC Officially Confirms Takhisis and Tiamat Are The Same

Pre-4e, more like. In 4e, the Babylonian and Egyptian influenced countries were replaced with parts of Returned Abeir. But the Chromatic Dragon was in various other settings at the same time, and the Tiamats of Nerath and Greyhawk (for example) were not imports from our world.

D&D 5E (2014) Tyranny of Dragons New Cover Reveal

100% both of these points. As a collector of the Hydro64 (and Hydro64-style) alt-covers, I have an issue when they print additional special editions that make me have to choose WHICH cover I want, or if I want both. I was royally ****ed that they locked the Mordenkainen Presents alt cover...

Dragonlance WotC Officially Confirms Takhisis and Tiamat Are The Same

Clearly the Bot doesn't understand the difference between Tiamat the Mesopotamian Primordial Chaos deity and Tiamat the Chromatic Dragon. I wonder if it would think that Bahamut is not Palladine because Bahamut is an elephant-like behemoth from the folkore and eschatology of Abrahamic religions.

D&D General Is Spelljammer really that bad?

A big difference between Spelljammer and Eberron is that with Eberron, I additionally have access to Exploring Eberron, Chronicles of Eberron, Dread Metrol, Morgrave Miscellany, and various adventures, and that's JUST counting the KANON 5e material from Hellkow Keith Baker. With Spelljammer, if...

D&D 5E (2024) Intelligence is your lie detecting stat - is it still a dump stat?

I feel like I would run it where if PLAYERS are trying to deceive, it would be Deception vs DC Int Mod. If an NPC is being shifty and PLAYERS want to do the Sherlock thing to figure out what they're hiding from their body language, it would be Insight vs DC Cha Mod.

Dragonlance Free Monstrous Compendium Volume II Includes Dragon Highlord Verminaard

Yeah, I get that they're not directly relevant to the adventure, though there's usually some monsters in setting/adventure combo bestiaries that are just there to be representative of the setting, not so much of the adventure. And then there's monsters that are suitable for print that had been...

Dragonlance Free Monstrous Compendium Volume II Includes Dragon Highlord Verminaard

Oh, Thanks! I had no recollection of that! I guess I was either late to the party to noticing the Spelljammer volume, or else I had just completely forgotten that I had been viewing it on my app first before reviewing the PDF. It does feel like these monsters are literally the pages cut from...

    D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Cleric & Revised Species Playtest Includes Goliath

That's certainly a different way to cut the pie. I'm more in favour of sitting necromantic ideas within different classes, but I understand how it could be done the otherway around. Much like how the equivalents of the 4e Warlord and Swordmage have been spread around in 5e, while many folks...

Dragonlance Free Monstrous Compendium Volume II Includes Dragon Highlord Verminaard

So the first volume came in both a DND Beyond source version and a PDF version. Has anyone been able to access a pdf version of Vol. 2? I can't seem to find any links. I think it might have been on the Wizards Account page, but ever since the Wizards big website overhaul a few weeks ago that...

    D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Cleric & Revised Species Playtest Includes Goliath

Sure, and I'm not going to convince you otherwise. But if less is more, then why not work with what we already have in the Shadow Magic Sorcerer? :P I agree with like 90% of your content on these forms, Aldarc, and respect ya; I really don't want to get into an argument with you over this, so...

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Permanently Removes The Term 'Race'

That's the legacy Orc. The current Orc from Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse and the 2024 PHB UA series doesn't have any traits that make them more in-tune with Nature, because that would be cultural more than biological.
