The map could be a problem considering Max's choice of powers; most of them involve pushing, sliding or letting allies shift, sometimes in a large area. If you don't mind, at the start of the combat you could post the map and the player's tokens separatedly, so I can post an updated map myself...

Why the obsession of hard coding in the rules the campaign's plot and fluff? Shouldn't the individual DM and his group decide if they want to play politics when they reach 10th level or continue crawling dungeons, this time killing giants instead of kobolds?
