    Time to Heal

A few because they like it. Most because they are in high demand and it's vastly easier to get into groups and raids.

Adventure: The stolen staff (DM: Someone. Judge: Luinnar)

Thank you for calculating those totals. I felt at the time that since one of you isn't getting any magical toy perhaps you'd want to distribute the treasure non-equally, though actually the common custom is to divide it in same sized parts independently of magic items gained. I've submitted...

    D&D 5E (2014) Should 5E have Healing Surges?

Absolutely, and if they do I'll welcome it. I like the surge system more than the previous editions' healing paradigms, though I see it's defects and I'm not married to it or it's particular implementation. If WotC can come up with a set of rules that has the same (IMHO) advantages (long term...

Adventure: The stolen staff (DM: Someone. Judge: Luinnar)

Vyrna nails the orc to the wall like a butterfly as Shun finishes the remaining foe, who's utterly confused by Lilli's spell. You're the owners of the bloodied cavern, and if the guard's lives had a price in orc death it was a high one indeed. After taking a few moments to calm your...

The worst of all editions? (humor)

At some point, a monster casts Animate Leather Straps and the sorcerer dies strangled by hiw own clothing in a epic 3 hour struggle involving the Grapple rules.

What themes do you want in core?

And how specific will themes be? I imagine that with splatbook inflation we'll have a lot, but do we need separate Town Watch, Mercenary, Soldier, War Veteran, Man at Arms, Retainer, Infantry, Marine, Private, Trooper, and Warmonger themes, or should be enough with just Soldier?

FourMonos , I reviewed Merri's sheet and added a comment. I think you should have a look at it.

I think that's exactly what the first sentence, "your companion shares your healing surge total" means?

Unable to see, and flying around in hysterical circles, the deranged pixie spreads around a considerable amount of dust. It doesn't mix well with the dust devil's inner workings; it flies directly towards the cavern's ceiling and disintegrates. I'm unable to reach the swarm unless I expended...

Adventure: The stolen staff (DM: Someone. Judge: Luinnar)

To date, the most impressive excuse for late posting I had was "my house is being hit by a hurricane", but I have to admit, "I was trapped 30 meters underwater and had to spend 5 days in a pressure chamber" beats it by a wide margin.

    AD&D 1E Should 5e adopt 1e style arcane magic?

Everybody would be clamoring to change that if the rule was that he could only use three bats and had to discard them after each swing, then make 3 new ones each morning.

D&D 4E What do you like about 4e healing?

For me, the main appeal is that it's easy to decouple from any implied mythology. I don't dislike per se the standard AD&D implied setting, but I hardly can see the need to use it in every campaing and more frequently than not when I design a new setting 3e rules usually got in the way. I mean...

Adventure: The stolen staff (DM: Someone. Judge: Luinnar)

The orc’s axe crashes on the rock that was, just a fraction of a second ago, directly behind Eva’s head. She can see the grin on the bloodlusted orc and knows that her minutes are numbered, just before the small halfing comes crashing on him with impossible force. A brutal barrage of hits from...

Even Newer(er) Tavern Thread: The Hanged Man

Max emerges from the improvised fort made with a couple overturned tables and chairs from where he's watching the brawl (which threatens to set the whole tavern on fire, and probably the rest of the city as well) and looks at the newcomer astounded. "Good heavens! It can talk!"

On one hand, a bag full of glue. On the other, a furry creature. What else could the pixie ask for? But the bag crashes against the wall without hitting anything. The flying little beast hides behind a colum, dissapointed. About the tanglefoot bags, I posted when we found them that I was going...

Unconventional wording notwithstanding, I'd say you gain the benefit of the pact when it triggers, not the moment you actually apply the bonus.

I share TwoHeadsBarking view. If I make a controller, I want someone who can do something dramatic. I want to move people around, negate actions, shape the battlefield, redirect their attacks. Something I can describe in character and feel powerful - the seeker's style of "I shoot an arrow at...

Only weldon left to post. Remember that Shun was dropped unconscious by the bad guys, but thanks to Lilli you're now at 8 HP and awake, but prone.
