    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Preview: The Multiverse

Hi, Rygar. It occurs to me that you probably don't know me too well. I don't post over here very often. Likewise, it also occurs to me that the internet is really bad about conveying intent. So allow me to introduce myself. My name is Trampas Whiteman. I co-founded the Dragonlance Nexus (along...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMG Preview: The Multiverse

I think you might be reading a little too much into this. In my mind, WotC simply referenced the most well-known era of Dragonlance - the War of the Lance. A lot of people gave up after Dragons of Summer Flame. Admittedly, I was one until I began working on the Dragonlance Nexus and read the...

    Advanced Bestiary

5 out of 5 rating for Advanced Bestiary Not only are there tons of ideas, but it's nicely laid out and gorgeous to look at. Good job, Green Ronin!

    Any other villainous character options?

What about other worlds, such as Dragonlance and Greyhawk?

    D&D 5E (2014) I have the DMG!

So basically, then, would the Oathbreaker paladin be an example of how to change a class? And just to doubly confirm, nothing on blackguards or anti-paladins, right? I'm assuming the Oathbreaker is meant to cover these, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks!

    D&D 5E (2014) RACES: D&D 5E Races That Should Be Core Races

Here are some I'd like to see: Deva Draconians (dragonborn variants for noble and base draconians) Genasi Goliaths (Half-Giants) Gully Dwarves Half-Kender Half-Ogre Kalashtar Kender (True and afflicted) Irda Minotaurs Mul Shadar-Kai Thri-Kreen Warforged

    D&D 5E (2014) RACES: D&D 5E Races That Should Be Core Races

Not true. I've played a few kender in my time and never once stolen from my own party.

D&D 5E (2014) Is 'Paladin Oathbreaker' the 'Blackguard' of the 5E?

In Dragonlance, there's an evil knighthood called the Knights of Neraka (formerly the Knights of Takhisis). A blackguard would work very well among their numbers. They swear a Blood Oath ("Submit or die!"), so they really aren't an oathbreaker. Yet all it takes is a little reflavoring to use the...

How about Venger as a cambion?

D&D 5E (2014) Maztica - Eagle Knights and Jaguar Knights

While I am not a huge fan of Maztica, I did like a couple of the archetypes - the Eagle Knight and the Jaguar Knight. I was thinking what they might look like in 5e and thought I'd get some feedback. I'm using the article on them in Dragon #315 as my main reference. The ability to shape-change...

Dragonlance Setting up a Dragonlance Campaign.

You could easily use a halfling for that.

Dragonlance Setting up a Dragonlance Campaign.

It's doable. I've played one, but I have a hard time with it since I'm not stupid. Use rock gnomes for tinkers. Mad gnomes are gnomes who don't have a life quest, and who make smaller-scale items that actually work. Ya gotta! During this era, draconians make good monsters. However, later...

Dragonlance Setting up a Dragonlance Campaign.

You are correct. Originally, a few drow showed up here and there, and non-canonical sources like Wild Elves show Spelljamming drow, but it has since been stated that drow do not exist on Krynn.

Dragonlance Setting up a Dragonlance Campaign.

One could certainly rule that they would have to join the WoHS, though the Dragonlance Campaign Setting (DLCS) says that they use wild sorcery rather than High Sorcery, so they would not technically exist in this time. That being said, entertainers, minstrels, etc. exist in all time periods. So...

D&D 5E (2014) Non fantasy setting book or books for 5th edition

D&D 5e Modern/Urban Arcana When I first played Shadowrun, I was entranced with the idea of a near-future setting of man, magic, and machine. It was like D&D in the modern world, but with a touch of sci-fi. Yet it never quite sat right with me. I think d20 Modern's Urban Arcana setting was more...

D&D 5E (2014) Monster Manual - What pictures really stood out, or changed your view on a monster?

Three pics struck me. 1. The Death Knight. This really stood out to me, not only as great art, but also as an example of how WotC is incorporating the iconic aspects of all of D&D in the core. Bravo, WotC, for using Lord Soth. 2. The Displacer Beast. I loved this monster in 1e and 2e. In 3e...

Dragonlance Tyranny of Dragons on Krynn (DragonLance)

I really dig that pic. Very well done. My only criticism is that Soth's armor is supposed to look more burned. Otherwise, great pic! It's great to see all the Dragonlance support in 5e. A lot of Dragonlance fans think it would be a great Dragonlance adventure. We've been talking about it on...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Bard: A missed opportunity.

I think you should give the 13th Age bard a try. They have spells, bardic songs, and battle cries (kind of like the warlord). It's a lot of fun to play.
