The Legend of Vox Machina Cast List

I saw a clear pattern of them casting people of colour to play people of colour, and also female characters. Plus a few friends. Matt is a fantastic voice actor, but his female characters aren't plausibly female voices. And of course he and the team are strongly in favour of minority roles being...

D&D General Monster of the Week: Hell Snail

It's very good as a straight port. But 5e never damages magic armour, and even damaging normal armour would be extraordinary. I'd need to think a bit about an appropriate translation, but this is a great basis! Thanks!

Unfortunately worshiping and idolizing creators and celebrities is a very human thing to do.

    Eternals (Spoilers)

It was an enjoyable movie. But it also had no real reason to be there, and no-one going forward is likely to complain if there are no sequels. I could be wrong, but I get the feeling that one of the Marvel big-wigs had an obsession with getting these folk to screen hell or high water. But he...

The Dungeons and Dragons film: Calls for shameless fan service

If it's what I'm thinking of, a cast member of Critical Role is a bad guy. Oh, the chewing of cheap scenery! Like Hulk does to Stark at the climax of the Avengers movie!

D&D General "Red Orc" American Indians and "Yellow Orc" Mongolians in D&D

The question is: If Mind Flayers must eat sapient creatures' brains to survive, does that make them Evil?

D&D General "Red Orc" American Indians and "Yellow Orc" Mongolians in D&D

I don't think Illithids use of slavery is a sticking point. If they think we're as animals compared to them, then what we call 'slavery' is just animal husbandry, or agriculture.

D&D General "Red Orc" American Indians and "Yellow Orc" Mongolians in D&D

Remember, the author(s) made all of it up. There didn't have to be orcs aping copies of human cultures. The authors could have stopped at the homage cultures themselves. It's clear they added orcs that ape human cultures so they could add the derogatory references for "humour's" sake.

    D&D 5E (2014) Latest D&D Errata: Drow, Alignment, & More

It could be fixed just by being more creative: Distracting Antics. As an action on your turn, you can actively distract nearby foes. This could be singing, chanting, a war dance, groveling, making a mighty boast, or some other attention-getting activity. Until the end of your next turn, your...

    D&D 5E (2014) Latest D&D Errata: Drow, Alignment, & More

I'm surprised they didn't replace the Kobold trait: Grovel, Cower, and Beg. As an action on your turn, you can cower pathetically to distract nearby foes. Until the end of your next turn, your allies gain advantage on attack rolls against enemies within 10 feet of you that can see you. Once you...

    D&D 5E (2014) Mobs in 5E

A 5th level Sleep spell at 13d8 should knock out a fair number of folks. Average 4.5 x 13 = 54.5 = maybe ten commoners? Hypnotic Pattern will take care of another 30-odd crowded together? Surely that would cause the others to pause, if not flee?
