    OoTS 655

O-chul will die, the question is will he destroy the phylactery? save V? will his death help redeem the MiTD? Find out next time if it doesn't cut to the Roysurrection. Now if Xylon didn't have plot armor then hey, it's up for grabs, but he does so no dice this time. It would be totally cool...

What's so special about being special?

Is it wrong that I want to play this?

    What's so special about Dragonlance?

The best of the 3 bland generic fantasy settings, still not a fan though. Rules wise I kind of liked the SAGA (5th age) rules although not the setting.

What's so special about Forgotten Realms?

Nothing. Nothing is special about FR. A High-Magic fantasy, overly detailed world filled with far too many super epic earth shaking NPCs = blech. I tried to DM an FR adventure for a group once (I didn't feel strongly one way or another at the time) and I was continuously interrupted by streams...

What is so special about Greyhawk?

I like bits and pieces of greyhawk, but the setting is still very "meh" to me, fairly bland and generic mid-magic level fantasy. I wouldn't be against them doing it, except it means they can't use the slot for that year for something more interesting.

Best RPG for my vacation with the wife

4e scales fine, so no worries there. If you don't have one just run into staples/kinkos/office depot and get some 8x8 or 8x10 maps laminated and presto, instant portable battlemat.

    My First 4e TPK!

Thanks for the report. I've been shying away from minions for a bit, hopefully there are more like this.

[Øone Games] The Largest Dungeon ever Tiled! 225 tiles, 164 rooms!

This is a PDF? or a physical product? And you're crazy that's ridonculous. I think I would go nuts, but also kind of want to try it.

Which RPGs are you currently playing?

This Poll would be more interesting if it said: "If you could only play one RPG which would you choose?" and then listed them.

    4e Tallow's Deep

Sounds really good, I've also thought about converting this module to 4e, but was concerned with all of the narrow passageways since 4e combat relies so heavily on movement. The aboleth and dragon turtle were a nice touch to add, if I do convert this I think I'll borrow that. Also love the...

A Question for the 25 and under crowd - What have you read?

I've read snippets of Rowling, she's terrible. Jordan, Tolkein, Brooks and Pratchett are ok. Haven't read the others. I think Steven Erikson should be on the list, his Malazan Book of the Fallen series is awesome(and apparantly loosely based on a d&d game 20+ years ago).

    I like 4e, but I miss... Forked Thread: I like 3E, but I miss...

Thaco. 10-15 minute combats. Magic items with pizzaz (like 1/2e). Playing more than 2 sessions in a row.

What level of technology WON'T you go beyond with your tabletop gaming?

I would use a laptop/projector if I had one, that would be sweet. But my games are decidedly low tech.

Re: Warlock Curses. Are we doing this right?

Yes that's right, he can get pact boon benefits from all of them though(although multiple uses are useless in many instances).

    The Sandbox And The Grind

Am I the only one running a non-exploratory sandbox? I guess I should explain, the way my game is run is not so much focus on exploration but focus on plots and decisions. Basically I throw out a vast web of plots, hooks and potential adventures and the players pick and choose among them and...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder RPG Core Book - Cover Posted

Nice pic, derivative of the 4e character sheets folder, but nice anyway. If I had the slightest interest in pathfinder I would consider it based on the art, but I don't so no worries on my wallet.

D&D 4E Running player commentary on PCat's 4E Campaign - Heroic tier (finished)

Well for each failure I planted a red-herring-which could lead to further failures but not successes, which is a bit of a jerk move, but seemed to fit the bill (they only failed one check though). It was a 12-3 challenge, mostly medium DCs. A failure would have meant that they got the wrong guy...
