    Do you have a gaming-related blog?

    Because of this thread... ...I started a blog, or another blog, I should say. Maybe I'll actually stick with this one :uhoh: Anyway, right now the only gaming-related thing is my Bio, but that should change shortly. Talmun's Detritus of Thought

    Would/Do You Wear A D&D T-shirt In Public?

    I often wear my "Re-roll your charisma or leave me alone" shirt in public...seems to be the best place to wear that one.

    Help me with the end of my campaign

    I had already thought about the Spell-warped template (Savage Species?), but Spell-weavers are an interesting idea. Maybe they're attracted to all the magical energy... I love the Living Spell template...alas, I've already used it quite a bit for the minions of a previous BBEG, so that's out...

    Help me with the end of my campaign

    So, the party has started on it final adventure (party level 19), knowing that the campaign will end when this plot does. They’ve just arrived at a little town that sits at the foothills of the Lortmils (a mountain range in GH), ready to defeat evil. What the party knows: · Two of the PC’s are...

    Greatest Insult to a D&D PLAYER (OOC)

    Among many of the RPG'ers I know: "LARPer" and "Vampire-weenie" Are two that are thrown around a bit.

    PKing between PCs; do you allow it?

    I'm firmly in the "in theory, yes - in practice, most likely not" camp. I did once have a PC who was in a secret organization and was ordered by his superiors to assassinate another character, but I made sure that the would-be assassins player understood that this was a bad order given by NPCs...

    When the magic starts to fade

    I confess to a complete lack of understanding when it comes to GMs who act this way. Not letting players swap out "stale" PCs for something new, disallowing feats (or anything else) by enforcing char-gen rules that were unknown up to that point, not being open to reasonable criticism...it all...

    Tired of "Mana"

    Another one for the list... Tolkien refers to magical energy as the "Unseen" at several points, differing from the "Seen" or the physical world. Of course, he wasn't referring to it being a metaphysical gas tank or a quantified number of spells that can be memorized and/or cast in an arbitrary...

    D&D hits Soapland

    It's a US soap-opera... Now I have to go do some serious soul-searching on how/why I know that...

    OK...so is this a good thing or a bad thing? :\

    Options by default: on or off?

    I allow anything for 3.5 from WotC with a couple caveats: BoVD and BoED stuff needs to be cleared before-hand, as does anything from Dragon, and the Radiant Servant of Pelor is not allowed. 3.0 stuff I allow only if it hasn't been converted. Non-WotC stuff is generally not allowed, but I'm...

    Arkham Horror

    Sounds like an improvement over the already enjoyable original. I can't wait to play it.

    Arkham Horror

    I've played the original; I'm not sure how different this version is. In the original game you play an investigator moving around Arkham, fighting (or running from) Mythos creatures, passing through gates to Other Worlds and trying to close said gates. It's very much like Talisman in that your...

    Making a Galleon Fly

    I was thinking you take a fly, and then add the Galleon template...presto! A Galleon-fly! :lol:

    Cross-over characters and campaigns?

    Since I loathe mixing genres I would never send the D&D party to D20 Modern earth or something like that. However, I have fully incorporated the CoC Elder Gods et al into my version of Greyhawk as Far Realm denizens. I'm not sure that's really the same thing since Greyhawk already has...

    Stupid=Not what the GM wants

    :lol: I tell myself the same thing.

    Stupid=Not what the GM wants

    High/epic level D&D is the same way. One of the reasons some DM's dislike running really high-level games is the parties’ ability to really screw up a plot; I've had it happen to me too many times to count.

    Stupid=Not what the GM wants

    Dibs on the tin cup... It's a tricky problem, since saying something to the GM about it is likely to cause trouble. If you think you can do it without hurting his feelings, I'd say go for it. Sit down with him and basically tell him what you told us, hopefully he knows how to take criticism...
