Weapon Speeds For d20 Fantasy Gaming

Without running the numbers, all you can say is that Quick weapons will have more attacks and hit more often and Slow weaons will have less attacks and hit less often. (at higher levels. since there is little or no change at lower levels, we won't focus on those). This will result in a higher...

Weapon Speeds For d20 Fantasy Gaming

Just to clarify: you still gain your first additional attack at BaB +6? (instead of, for quick weapons, at BaB +5) Why? But you gain the additional attack earlier? So quick gets additional attacks at BaB +6,+9,+13, etc. instead of +6,+11,+17. And slow weapons get the additional attacks...

    Help with Skill, LA, etc.

I don't think that last line is correct. Shouldn't they overlap? If you have a weapon that doesn't bypass ANY of the DR components, you should take the highest DR, which is 15. They don't stack, so no DR 25.

    LEVEL ADJUSTMEN simplified

I agree the Buyoff system is written down more complex than it has to be. This is, I assume, also the reason your interpretation of it is slightly off: You need to get to a specific level first before you are allowed to buy off LA's. So, no buyoff of your LA+3 during your XP gain to lvl 2...

Rituals, Deals with the Devil, and other short cuts to power!?

The Tome of Magic contains, among others, Pact Magic, that might apply to his needs.

    LEVEL ADJUSTMEN simplified

Although I haven't taken the time to calculate the results, it looks like just another way of stating the level progression while taking LA into account. (if not, where exactly does it differ?) It might make things more simple to explain, but doesn't actually change anything (does it?) As...

Your mother is a toothless wHero.

I like the idea, although I think it needs some more detailed explanation on HOW this 'hero' would actually become a ranger-like character through the use of selectable feats/class options. In regards to the Destiny feat: I'd make it an ability, obtained at lvl 1. To avoid it being dipped by...

    Mystic Theurge

But... I must admit I didn't actually look those up, but as far as I can tell, you won't actually have any class abilities to progress. (like Divine and/or arcane casting....) Meaning you still have to spend extra levels to obtain those, right? (or the PrC becomes rather useless....)

    D&D 3.x 3.5 vs. Pathfinder

I think the best thing about Pathfinder is it's an ACTIVE rules line, whereas 3.5 is now no longer supported. I tried Pathfinder, and I liked some of the changes they made, but it failed to address some of the problem areas. For example, they changed how Grapple works, but it's still a...

    Searching for Time Elemental

I'm not sure if it will help you, but 'The Tide of Years', a d20 adventure published by Atlas Games contains the stats for a Time Elemental. AFAIK no picture though.

    Long(er) range precision damage

Yes, because ignoring rules has worked so well in the past.... Like one of our DM's who decided costly material components were 'stupid', resulting in our druid spamming Stoneskin like there was no tomorrow. I do, now and again, ignore rules (as a DM). However, as a rule I try not to...

    Long(er) range precision damage

I'm trying to find ways to increase the range limit of precision damage (like Sneak Attack and Skirmish Damage) beyond 30 feet. I know of the following options: Feats: Crossbow Sniper (PH2) Spells: Sniper's Shot(SpC) of course, Crossbow Sniper only works on crossbows, and Sniper's Shot...

    Basic classes and various derivations

As a sidenote, the 'extraordinary' classes are more dependant on magic items than the 'supernatural' classes are. This might not seem that important, but becomes an issue when you (as DM) want to have a gameworld where magic items are less common than in the 'standard' setting.

    Poor DM choice

Keeping the DM's reference material to a minimum may seem harsh, but I've seen worse. (like getting a pre-rolled PC with two levels of expert and two levels of fighter) I say roll with the punch, and make the best of it. Did he say you could make characters? Or did he assume you would be...

    Ranger/Druid?

...or he would be dropped a Tier? I'm not sure that would be so bad. On the other hand, maybe I'll give him the extra bonus feats gained by one of the spellless ranger variants as well. That might even the field somewhat.

    Ranger/Druid?

Given that one of the class variant options is to have a ranger gain fast movement and limited shapechange by giving up Combat style, improved combat style and combat style mastery, how balanced would it be to give a Druid the Combat Style, Improved Combat Style and Combat Style Mastery in place...

Need Help with a Barabarian PrC design

On first glance, this reads like Barbarian++ What, exactly, are you getting later or giving up on in relation to the Barbarian? First 'balancing' option that comes to mind is these abilities only work while raging (extra hp from Blood thirst disappear at end of rage, like extra hp gained...

    Ranger/Druid?

I'm trying to help a friend with a build. He mentioned he wanted some kind of Ranger/Druid hybrid. More specifically, he likes the ranger ranged weapon bonus feats and the druid's spell progression. He's less interested in the druids shapechanging. My current advice is to simply take...
