    Underrated RPGs

I'm voting for Peril and Plunder. It's my D&D Heartbreaker writen when I realized 4e wasn't for me and wanted a old school game less complex than 3e but a little more robust than 1e/2e. It still uses levels, but I built it so players build their characters by choosing building blocks, called...

    Preparations for Super Bowl LIX?

The Fancy Special Nachos. Four kinds of cheese shredded from the block. Use the broiler on the oven for the perfect crisp. Just using this week to test which salsa I want to use.

    Should Wizardry Require Player Intelligence?

Burpies. If we are going to do it let's do it right.

    D&D 5E (2024) Fey Video Critique & Alternate Perspective

WOTC released a adventure called Dragon Heist without any actual heist yet marketed it to all of us like we were getting the Oceans 11 campaign. Stop putting any stock in there marketing department.

    Should Wizardry Require Player Intelligence?

The Sorcery game books by (UKs) Steve Jackson required players to memorize the three letter names of the spells. When you got to a part in the book where you could cast a spell it would give you a list of what page you would turn to cast which and hopefully you rembered what did what. Fun...

Dark Tower Gets The Deluxe Director’s Cut Treatment From Goodman Games

I think they all include expansion. The B1/B2 has additional Caves for the Caves of Chaos. I'm 90% sure the Isle of Dread adds some areas as well. Im pretty sure DCC lost the license to do more of the old TSR modules, but putting out to Jennels classics with this and the upcoming Thracia is...

D&D 5E (2024) Dungeons & Dragons 2025 Monster Manuals show up in the wild.

100% got all three books at the FLG as the price was just a few $ more. It's extra work, and I don't like the special covers, but I feel good about it so that's a perk.

Are Orcs in the Monster Manual? No and Yes.

I reskinded lots of statblocks as orcs in 5e so this really isn't that diffrent. I've also reskined lots of Stat blocks as goblins. I've turned the yeti stat block into an undead hagspawn wolf creature. A red dragon Stat block into a fire breathing guardian statue. And so many more. If your not...

What is the MOST IMPORTANT skill for a GM to have?

Literacy We all know none of the players are going to make any effort to read thier charachter abilities/spells.

    D&D 5E (2014) Us Building a "Fundamentally 5E" Setting From Scratch Together

The issues I have with 5.5e is that everyone is too magical, but I agree that you solve it by building a setting that leans into this.

D&D General Freeport Trilogy vs Lost City of Barakus

It's got a lot of wilderness exploration and social interactions between the dungeon crawl parts, but if you want level 1 then it doesn't fit that bill.

D&D General Freeport Trilogy vs Lost City of Barakus

I humble suggest the Vault of Larin Karr. It takes some work to prep and run but it's a real sandbox.

Dungeons & Dragons Teases New Campaign Settings

Let's hope the embrace the weird. We don't need another generic earth like world. I want flying ships that travel between civilizations built in the miles thick branches of gigantic trees that grow out of an ocean of crawling beetles thousand of feet below. Or some equally crazy premis.

Why Dungeons & Dragons Isn't Putting Out a Campaign Book in 2025

I'm on board with short. But WOTC missed a chance at a Year of the Snake Yuan Ti adventure. Should have do a 90 to 120 page Dwellers of the Forbidden City release.

    D&D 5E (2024) The Bribe A 13 YO Turned Down

Offer him $500 in real world cash. Easy to turn down game benefits, hard to turn down actual real life money.

I mean look at a snakes shape, it is basically made to slide down someone's throat. 🤷

Monsters & More: An In-Depth Review of the 2025 D&D Monster Manual

I mean technically some snakes are poisonous and venomous. https://www.osc.org/can-snakes-be-venomous-and-poisonous/ Let me be the first to say WOTC has betrayed us all by nerfing snakes. My whole charachter build was based on getting my enemies to eat poisonous snakes and now that is not an...

    How Do You Learn Boardgames?

Never played Frosthaven but Jaws of The Lion seemed pretty easy to learn. I think it is geared as a "Starter Set". I typically read the rules then try to muddle through. Maybe watch a video if something isn't clicking, but learning from a friend is still the best way to learn any game.
