Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

I've been reading the posts and I don't think that anyone is really accusing anyone involved of fixing the competition. If anything, I think WotC's sweep of this year's ENnies comes largely from (for lack of a better term) a lack of understanding of just how much more marketshare WotC has over...

    Neo's Datalink Updates (Dragonstar/Star Wars/Supers/Darwins World and D&D)

Hey Neo, I checked out your site and there's some great stuff there. Best wishes in your future freelancing endeavors.

    1000 ways to be a D&D Snob

    219. Lunched with other D20 publishing company presidents just so you could later publicly claim friendship with them. 220. Saw that the Monster Manual in 3rd edition was missing favorite monster, then made an unholy pact with the devil to make your version the official one. After 3 drafts, a...

White Robes, Black Hearts: Enigma of the Arcanexus

Technically DPG is based out of Alaska. though in reality we are pretty spread out and we do most of our work on the internet. I live in Tacoma WA and presently work for WotC. Tony lives in Alaska and works as an electrician, and Michael lives in New York and does numerous things. Also, we have...

White Robes, Black Hearts: Enigma of the Arcanexus

The short answer is yes. 112 pages with a mix of all of the above. There are 4 separate dungeon locations, and it is set against the backdrop of a the Lands of Arekoz campaign setting. The following brief write-up is posted at our website: Our first popular commercial adventure is going to...

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

Morrus, no offense here, but I think that this could be a dangerous choice, and one that could jeapordize the legitimacy of the ENnies. As someone that has argued for reform, I'm not sure that this is the right way to go about it. Some possible issues are that with this information, the actual...

    E-Tools owners, please grade it

I think its useful as a development tool and character generator, but it the biggest shortfall I see is that classes and prestige classes are limited to those found in the core books. It also has no way to handle monster templates (well, you can create a new race to handle this, but the hit dice...

Star Wars d20 – share your experiences! (Please)

Right now Star Wars D20 is my only current campaign. I know my players check these boards periodically, so I need to keep the meta story that hasn't been revealed to myself. What I can tell you is what has happened, and then maybe you can draw your own conclusions on where the story is going...

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

Natural 20 can actually already boast something just as, if not more prestigious than winning an ENnie: It (he, Russ) hosts them.

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

Steve, in my humble opinion, your comments and suggestions represent what I would consider to be the ideal solution. I would add one more category, that being best smaller publisher (and then define in very specific terms, what a smaller publisher is). I'm also against limiting the voting to...

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

While I agree that this is a valid concern, I just don't see it happening. The truth is that the boards are already somewhat flooded with publishers pushing their own products. This normally focuses on new products that are about to be released so that they can get the word out and build some...

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

Sorry, I just read Ryan's post. Essentially Ryan is proposing a bottom up organization where the masses of people select the products to be voted on and then their represented leaders pick the winners. That's not a bad way to go really, except that Eric's point of view is completely valid...

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

I still haven't heard a good reason not to have 2 or even 3 levels of the competition. Suppose that WotC, Sovereign Press, AEG, and Sword and Sorcery compete in the larger publisher category. The reason they would be in this category would be because they all publish D&D or officially licensed...

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

Oh, I dunno. Demanding recounts (or at least making the counts public). Claims that the thing was unfair in some way. Just general controversy.

I'm with you Clark. Does this remind anyone of our (the US) most recent election?

Branstorming for ENnies 2003 -- improvements, changes, etc

Just a point of clarification. WotC still owns Dungeon and Dragon magazines (not so sure about Star Wars Insider). Paizo Publishing now owns the rights to produce these magazines. This may seem like a minor issue, but it is an important difference.

    E-Tools: How to...

How to make a template First off, I think I see why they didn't bother to do templates in E-tools. This program essentially already has a templates function called races. The problem with Monster Manual templates is that they basically add one race to another. Since the program doesn't allow...

    E-Tools: How to...

I'm starting this thread so that we can collectively come up with workarounds for some common E-tools issues. I'm going to start off with how to make a template. If anybody else has any workarounds, please post to this thread. I believe that despite its limitations, E-tools is a good tool that...
