    Expert class for PC

This is my thoughts on an Expert class for the PC and based off my tinkering and some thoughts someone posted about a single "basic class" for d20 Modern. It has been updated based on feedback from this forum. Thoughts? Is it balance? Will it play fairly with the other classes? Version 0.2...

More Chicago Gaming: D&D in FR

Understandable... must say that we usually only game in Schaumburg if we do it on a Friday night because most of the people work in that area and one of us lives there, so it makes it easy. On Sat/Sundays we usually game in Aurora, that way everyone has plenty of time to get there... think 3 of...

More Chicago Gaming: D&D in FR

Probably will, just don't get over that direction too much.

    Cyberware for d20!

Blackhammer was/is cool... but please don't use d20. It work semi-ok for D&D, and its completly broken outside of the D&D framework. And Modern d20 is even worse [yes please, I'd like to meet at 5th level Strong Hero that handles animals... Arnold's next film: Dog Catcher! - see it in action...

    Yet ANOTHER Alt.Monk

Quick glance, I do like it. Means I don't have to go out and buy OA to have monks in my campaign have different flavors... nice job.

    Multiple characters per player?

Haven't tried that, most do custom adventures in FR although think I'll do City of Spider Queen as it looks fairly good. But yeah, I agree with you. Heck, when I start out a campaign, or am looking at rejuvinating it with new characters, I just have the players make up characters withing...

    Multiple characters per player?

I absolutely never change an adventure because of what characters the player choose to play. Right now we have a wide assortment of characters, and levels, all playing in the continuing campaign we have. However, the campaign and adventures do not change just because the adventure works best...

Ok, I'll have to respond when my head's clear of beer.... too much to digest right now! :)

    D20 Modern supplement available [RolePlayingMaster]

Not when they don't take into account custom feats, classes, abilities, equipment, etc. and send that data along with it. Without that extra information, if needed, the statblock is pretty useless. No, I believe thats Luke's point is that by encapsulating the actual game mechanics code in...

    D20 Modern supplement available [RolePlayingMaster]

Ok, hows this.. take ENWorld, its a well attended place by most people looking to hawk software for d20, no? So if you post something that you are looking to form a group to talk about putting together common formats for certain data or ways of doing things to benefit the END-USER, I bet you'd...

Anthony Valterra 11/14 clarification on last nights post

Yes, that can be true in a lot of cases... probably for the enough of the majority of cases that it will work fine, especially since eTools really doesn't provide any 'play at the table' functionality.

    D20 Modern supplement available [RolePlayingMaster]

.lst is a proprietary format yet because no other software uses their format. Get the point? Additionally, saving character information if you reference an open 'datasource' of OGL'd data could be fine as a closed file format. Often too many boutique, and no I'm not saying you fall into...

Anthony (I am a big fat liar) Valterra 11/12

Unless its going to be done correctly, CD protection should be left out of a software package. Heck its tripped up id and Valve before, and Bioware went to great lengths with NWN to do it.

    D20 Modern supplement available [RolePlayingMaster]

Gee, I dunno. If I as a DM am using CS and one my players is using PCGen [for whatever reasons], would certainly be nice to be able to take his character from PCGen and have it available in CS so that I could use use CS to keep track of its stats during the campaign. I hate to say it, but...

    Sunder Armor?

That would be more realistic, but neither is D&D's combat anywhre close. Nonetheless, since the Sunder Weapon doesn't account for say wooden club against steel sword, Sunder Armor probably shouldn't either... right? For simplicity and sanity sake.

Cost of Amulet of Mighty Fists (?!)

We had a similiar situation, but had a monk that was using Gauntlets of Ogre Power to boost his low Strength score. I let him go ahead and enchant the gauntlets as if they were a magic weapon, but at double the cost since the gauntlets already had magic cast upon them. This has not seriously...

BLASTED E-Tools! I wasted money on THIS!?

Yes, I did too... to me they were literally trying to produce their own version of NWN which took a lot more man-hours to produce than Fluid was going to be able to provide.

BLASTED E-Tools! I wasted money on THIS!?

Gotta disagree with you there FL. The "science" of software engineering is not all that immature. At its roots can be applied the same engineering principles as all other engineering disciplines. Since engineering, like software engineering, is a constantly evolving process, it will never be...
