Can I Get the OGC From M&M?

Re: Re: Re: Thank You and more . . . Sorry, I disagree. Anyone whose written anything on the SRD dropped Wizards and asked them for permission? Doubtful, at least not these days. And Monte's is only one voice on the matter and its his opinion. A sign of respect is to give your fellow...

    Battletech D20?

Well, i.e. M&M didn't just slap supers on D20, they actually took the time to put together an interesting system that works well and works for supers quite well. So I hope Mongoose did the same. I don't want classes, unless they are very basic.. [and no, not like the silly ones in d20 modern]...

    [AU] 11 new core classes

After seeing the classes, I'm now waiting to see what Green Ronin's fantasy game will be like [hopefully more inline with M&M]. Thanks, but no thanks Monte... I don't want the same old rehashed concepts with different names and slightly expanded concepts.

    Taking Out the Familiar

Basically we decided it was worth 1 feat, and then an additional feat at 11th.

    Seeking Battle Commander Mage

The splatbook for Clerics, et al. from WotC has a WarPriest that you could take the basics of and transform for a wizard. There might, but don't have the books with me, be a warwizard of Cormyr prestige class running around in one of the Forgotten Realms books too. But I must ask the question...

    Simple fix for multi-classed spellcasters?

Sure, if all you are doing is meta-gaming. On the other hand if you are making interesting characters that have different abilities, its not really all that big of deal. There are far greater hinderances to character flexibility in 3rd Ed. I must say I disagree. We have a Paladin/Sorcerer...

Can I Get the OGC From M&M?

Re: Thank You and more . . . If the author has declared something as OGC, then he's already given his permission to use it. With exception of the game mechanics, which unless a mechanic consists of a PI, which are already automatically OGC, the OGL does not allow others to automatically use...

    Battletech D20?

May have to check that out... hopefully they took a more OGL'd approach rather than using the broken20 Modern as a basis. :/ But as for the original poster, the Mecha rules in Polyhedron are a bunch of junk as far as a BattleTech-esque flavor is considered. Essentially they are just large...

Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Handbook: Chainmail rehashed?

Ok, thanks.. then it might have some redeeming qualities.. i.e. use of minis, although random sucks. Yeah, had seen that, wasn't particularly impressed.

Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Handbook: Chainmail rehashed?

So is the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Handbook just Chainmail rehashed and now with pre-painted plastic minis [well extra-large minis] instead?

Feather Fall (normal rate of fall...?)

Ok, Thanks. I was looking for an official rule on what the "normal falling rate" is. Btw, the general terminal velocity of a person is ~125mph if you are extended with arms and legs out. About ~200mph in a ball and I think the max. skydiving record is ~300mph if I remember right. This is in...

Feather Fall (normal rate of fall...?)

Re: Re: Feather Fall (normal rate of fall...?) Mms, thats as good of place to look as any I guess. Thanks.

Feather Fall (normal rate of fall...?)

Ok, does anyone know what the normal rate of fall is according to the 3rd Ed. rules?

What OGL/D20 games do you guys own or play?

D&D3e [only d20/OGL game I'd pay for from WotC] Spycraft Mutants and Masterminds M&M Mecha None. But if I really was forced to play a d20/OGL game, it'd be Mutants and Masterminds because its a flexible enough system that I could create any game, any genre, etc. with it and have a good and...

PCgen to start charging for Data?!

Re: Re: Exclusivity of the CMP/WotC deal? Don't be on it. This is not necessarily the case. Sure its pretty easy to import text, but importing the rules and use cases for each new feat, skill, spells, etc. can be difficult. Not to mention, may be against the various licenses.

    PCGen sellout

Given WotC's trackrecord, I highly doubt that they known enough or made enough effort to guarentee that the fixes could be done. And thats just assuming that we are talking about making changes to an existing code-base. If we are talking about starting from near scratch, then its even more...

    For Opera Users.

Completely childish on Opera Software ASA's part. Keep doing some more research, because this is nothing but a load of garbage. Microsoft, like every other major browser, has "extensions" to the HTML-spec to expand the capability of the HTML. These extensions, which range from extra...

    PCGen sellout

    a) Java is NOT a horrible language. Its actually a very good language by itself. The biggest problem is that its supposed to be cross-platform and doing cross-platform UI is not an easy task and the Swing API for doing UI is really dodgy and slow... IBM's version is actually a bit better, but...

    e-Tools Negotiation Update

Let's hope not, otherwise it just shows that WotC is shooting from the hip again without any thoughts whatsoever. Frankly when dealing with software, unless you've worked and seen their work or have high recommedations from a reliable and KNOWLEGABLE source, you should ALWAYS get an independent...
