    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeonscape no more?

No, not really. A search doesn't show you every time the author thinks the word was used. It shows you all of them.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeonscape no more?

The best bet here would probably be taking an existing enterprise platform and bending/skinning it towards D&D. Like someone said upthread, the number of successful enterprise class RPG products is close to zero. So why believe you could be the first to build such a thing from scratch?

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeonscape no more?

Searching is a thing. Paper can't ever do that. I agree that PDF isn't the only answer, but there need to be two versions of the product: One you enjoy reading and using. One you can search. So in my view book/pdf is almost perfect.

D&D 5E (2014) The Case for a Magic Item Shop?

We first made the comparison to houses. You shifted it to gadgets and weapons. We need to address the difference in cost between those two concepts in some way if we are to make any sense of it. If you read my post you'll see that not only did I reference wages, but I am also willing to...

D&D 5E (2014) The Case for a Magic Item Shop?

This falls apart though when you factor in what 'rich enough to afford magic' actually looks like. Doing wage based conversions you're pretty safe at estimating a single gp in the $200 range. This is a whole other topic, to be sure, but let's just start with this as a base assumption. I...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeonscape no more?

Tell me nothing, that's fine. Tell me something that makes no sense and you're essentially just noise in my ears. It should be okay for me to complain about the noise.

D&D 5E (2014) The Case for a Magic Item Shop?

I like that anology. You can actually buy 'buildings' retail, but those are typically modular homes, mobile homes, storage sheds and the like. So potions and scrolls. This also opens the idea of a realtor/broker. Someone who might be able to find an owner of such an item and arrange a...

    D&D 5E (2014) Not in the DMG

How do you figure they ditched Forgotten Realms? I'm trying to play catch up over here and you're telling me I don't need to do that? Why? Both the Starter and Tiamat product lines were FR, and I believe the Next PDFs are as well (though I don't own any yet).

    D&D 5E (2014) Licensing so far....

Don't forget that WotC is still actively selling PDFs via links from their website to dndclassics.com. ODD through Next, just nothing 5e yet.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeonscape no more?

I'm trying to find a scenario that makes sense here, too. I'm also struggling with the whole "we can't say much" angle. There MUST have been a contract. If it contained a 'we can end you for any reason without remedy' clause then signing it without a 100% product in hand was a mistake. So I...

The walking Dead -Four Walls And A Roof [spoilers]

I was surprised to see them all die. I figured they would drag the whole 'being hunted' thing out a while. Also I suspect Carol was holding/consoling Beth from the shadows. I pictured the two of them emerging together. See, they're probably setting up a love triangle where Daryl has to pick...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Basic DM rules updated

In a Pavlov/Skinner context you're certainly right to be concerned. You should only reward behavior you want to see again. But from an educational perspective, I could see the logic in learning more when you have fewer resources.

D&D 5E (2014) Character play vs Player play

Like needing adventurers who can do it, for example? Justify it however you like. I'm not here to cram the red pill down your throat. Maybe we just have different definitions for that word. Yeah, go with that.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Basic DM rules updated

Encounter design, along with DMing in general, has always been both art and science.

D&D 5E (2014) Character play vs Player play

I do endorse rolling when you need to decide something as-yet undefined. But the dice should only ever make the decision when it doesn't matter. Male or female, for example. When it matters you should decide. When it could go either way, roll. IMO

D&D 5E (2014) Character play vs Player play

An NPC offering a quest is metagaming and violates every social contract you have ever played under? Hard to believe. What game is it that you play that's completely immune from metagaming? It can't be D&D. The level/class system alone is rife with it.

D&D 5E (2014) Character play vs Player play

Then let them go. Plenty more fish in the sea, as it were. Metagaming happens, as do retcons. It works well as a two way street navigated by friends with maturity. There's more to life than negativity from unyielding people. Props if you like that sort of thing though.

D&D 5E (2014) [Rules Question] Opportunity Attacks and Total Cover

I agree, and I guess I would apply this to the rogue behind the desk as well. Again I think the penalty attaches to the decision to move, not to where you wind up.

    D&D 5E (2014) Not in the DMG

Not sure what you're driving at. I wouldn't necessarily expect AP content to be in the DMG. I do expect to see third party adventures, blog posts and the like, but I understand WotC themselves is afraid of releasing more books than people will actually buy. I'd go find the quotes were I not...
