What Knowledge Skill do you use/allow?

Of those 36 knowledge skills, how many have PCs in your campaign(s) actually chosen? Have you changed the Knowledge skill to encourage investment in it? Is a distinction between Mechanics and Clockworks or Weapons and Armor and Military really necessary?

Which monsters do you think will be in MM1?

No problem. One thing that dawned on me is that the yuan-ti in DoD aren't ones we've seen before, and they don't appear to be psionics-based. Perhaps they've created new yuan-ti for the MM1 and are saving the traditionally psionic ones for the PsiH.

Of gishes and arcane defencers and whatnot: Is 4th ed. language for everyone?

StrawF/MU. If the player knew he wanted to play a duskblade, he would have just said duskblade. Gish is a larger category than duskblade, ranger, hexblade. Using it as a synonym for duskblade is as futile as using mammal as a synonym for human. Clearly, someone who uses the term gish wants a...

The Proper Use of Nudity in FRPG Art

Sure. Some d20 Modern games don't have any magic, Twilight2000 (is that what it's called?) doesn't, and games like Star Wars and Gamma World are closer to sci-fi than fantasy.

Of gishes and arcane defencers and whatnot: Is 4th ed. language for everyone?

"I would like to play a gish" or "I would like to play a multiclass (or even single-class, post PH II) character which combines spellcasting and martial fighting in a manner that allows me to function effectively in the typical D&D party." or "I would like to play a F/MU (except I don't...

Testing - Testing... EN World II Test Site

I'd read somewhere that ENW2 would be black-on-white because the current white-on-black is harder to read. Is that true, and will that be the case?

Which monsters do you think will be in MM1?

I was ambiguous when I said "monster", not "miniature". This quote confirms that the yuan-ti will be in MM1. To answer your other question, my guess is: Rot Scarab Swarm, Large Fire Elemental, Demonweb Swarm or Angel of Vengeance. The swarms because they could have been in the set for other...

Which monsters do you think will be in MM1?

One monster won't be in MM 1. There are two yuan-ti in DoD. Therefore, the yuan-ti will be in the MM 1.

Of gishes and arcane defencers and whatnot: Is 4th ed. language for everyone?

So FM-U should be used because only 33% of people won't understand it? I like the word gish. It is a word with a specific meaning which has evolved to have a wider meaning, because there was no suitable alternative. I think it's wonderful that versitality and changability, the things that...

To much combat and not enough "roleplaying"!

Having said that, Wizards has also revealed that traps will be more interactive instead of 'save or be inconvenienced'. So puzzle-solving as it relates to trap-springing will hopefully be encouraged.

4th ed, the Good & the Bad?

Ok. I'd never heard of a cloud of blood-sucking vapour, but my point still stands: It's not fair to use a creature that should be immune to all damage as an example of something that should be immune to sneak attack damage. It depends on the creatures. Zombies being vulnerable in the head is a...

4th ed, the Good & the Bad?

You'd attack the oak table in the joints. If you slid a dagger in and twisted, you could break a leg off (you'd want a fairly sturdy dagger - maybe magical). No weapon is going to do anything against a sentient cloud of blood-sucking vapour! It's not fair to invent a creature that should be...

4th ed, the Good & the Bad?

Zombies have weak points! Iron golems have joints, animated furniture has joints, flesh golems have nerves or arteries or eyes, and so on.

    Reveille's Feats [Redux]

Why did you share the Great Bite feat before the Bite Attack feat? Wouldn't it make more sense to do it the other way around? Why is this feat limited to bites, instead of natural weapons in general? I guess since monsters often have two claw attacks it might make sense to exlude those, but...

    PoL & population density

It could be any population - an Enworldian from South America talked about how the situation there is much like points of light because the lawful authorities cannot exert their will over the entire city. I think it's got more to do with the dangers present and the rule of law than the...

Clerics are a popular class for elves...Really?

I'd say it's because: elves are perceptive, therefore they receive a bonus to Wisdom. Wisdom is the most important stat for clerics, therefore if you want to become a cleric elf is a good option. I don't think it's based in flavour, so much as character optimisation (and I don't have a problem...

The Tielfling and The Gnome: On the Set of 4th edition

I think the accent-tie-in-with-WoW was deliberate - I know I got a kick out of it.

    Requesting DM

I've never DMed an online game, and don't plan to, but I have a couple of recommendations. 1) Give a bit more details, about yourself and your time commitments. Obviously, you don't need to give your name or age, but what level do you want to start at, is there any specific campaign you want to...

New class. Please help evaluate and balance it.

In most cases (including this one), the class features of the base class will be generic enough that they could apply to a large number of characters. For me, there is nothing more annoying than finding the perfect feat, prestige class or magical item only to be told there is a specific...
